.....THERE'S........ONLY ONE.....RICKY HATTON According to the British fans, who sing that damn song(with the 'Walkin' in the WInter Wonderland chorus) Has or will an American Fighter EVER get that kind of following or reception here in the US, let alone across the pond????:dunno:
I doubt it. The atmosphere was amazing for that fight just from what i could gather seeing it on TV. It sounded like a soccer match, huge noise even when there was a lull in the action. It's amazing to see a fighter having thousands of fans flying across the ocean to support them. :bears:
European Fight Fans R a RARE bREED... Even as a KID,REED has ALWAYS Been Drawn to the PASSION of Euro Boxing Fans... Sure,it was SHITTY when they Pelted Marvin Hagler w/Bottles,after KO'ing Alan Minter, but that Kind of PURE,EMOTIONAL Response Struck a Chord w/REED... Who HASN'T Wanted to Throw Something @ a Guy who just Beat THEIR Guy???:dunno: ...REED Would've Thrown a Fucking GRENADE @ Tarver's Ass & NOT Thought Twice about it... Shit,if REED Could've Seen a PRIME Roy Jones in Action,REED would've Recited Verses of "Ya'll Musta 4-Got" or "And Still":: ...The Chanting is VERY Cool... American Fans R Toooooooo "Cool" to Show that Type of Over the Type FANDOM ...Latino Fans R Equally as Passionate, but they Generally ONLY Show it to 1 of "Their Own",so to Speak... Euro Fans Don't Give a Fuck...Black,White,Arab,Whatever...If U're 1 of THEIRS,your Color DOESN'T even Matter...Frank Bruno,Nigel Benn,Hatton & Prince can Testify... w/Out Question,Euro Fans,Fight Crowds & Fight Atmospheres R BETTER(Not to Mention the Ring Entrances) than Anywhere Else...They're More PASSIONATE... REED
Only a fight against Floyd Mayweather will silence the Hatton fans....after a few rounds it will be automatic...jab,jab,right hand..for mayweather...
English fans sure are a funny bunch. Latinos are meant to be the most raucus and passionate fans, but it's simply not true. The podgy, pasty, potato face Brits have a clear edge ::
That Was Hattons house last night............but when was the last time a Mexican big name got such a bad/nonexistant reaction. He would have been just as bad fighting in Wembley , if that stadium still exists
It's not really a fair comparison since there usually aren't many elite world class British fighters going at one time, which is why British fans will sometimes show up en masse even if it's just to back a sure loser like Frank Bruno. Plus, they're getting out of Britain for a while by vacationing in Vegas...I'm sure that aids in the celebration a bit.
Even more pertinent, How many "El Terribles" are there.?? You should be done for Trademark Infringement!!! THERE'S ONLY ONE EL TERRIBLE!! AND YOU AIN'T HIM!!!!!
the passion is beautiful, but it'd just be nicer if the brit fans were a little more selective, if they demanded that hatton fight better opposition, and stopped cheering when he does the mma moves
Tszyu IBF {Consensus #1} Light-Welter Maussa WBA/IBF Welter Collazo WBA WELTER Urango IBF Light Welter Castillo NO BELT. Name one Brit fighter that has fought that level of opposition over the last 3 years??? Joe Cal....close but not quite. He needs Kessler. Danny Williams: Close with the Skelton, Tyson, Harrisson and Klitschko fights, but he lost two of them brutally. Hatton is the premier British fighter right now. Hes not as skilled as Joe, but until Joe fights and beats Kessler, Ricky is the more accomplished.
:nono: First off, disregard my post count(somebody started my post count over for some reason)......I was here before you according to the Tale of the Tape :nono: Second off.....I got my handle from Erik Morales, who is known as El TERIBLE..........not EL TERRIBLE......the guy who I believe lives in Germany, and seems like a good poster here :nono: Third off.....over a year and a half ago, I emailed the important folks here and asked them how I could switch handles out of respect to the original ET......without re-registering.never got a definitive answer :dunno: Fourth Off.........How is this of your concern?
I don't care.....I just thought the fact that there were two men going by more or less the same name tied in nicely with the question you were asking, namely, How many Ricky Hattons are there. I didn't realise you were going to tell me your life story and have a major shit fit over it.:shit: :shit:
Moral of the story: SPEAK WHEN SPOKEN TO............ peoples feelings tend to get ruptured when I get angry. I'm pretty sure I'm the last poster you want to address in a sarcastic tone
you must be feeling a little mental, mate. "Well, at least his level of opposition is better than Joe Calzaghe's!" not much of a defence, is it?
I didn't say "at least".:nono: :nono: Ricky is GB's premier fighter right now, and has been fighting better comp. Thats all I said. Fuck, I complain about Joes resume, and I get castigated. I back him up, I get castigated. Lots of smaller weight English fighters, a la Andy Holligan, Shea Neary, Ensley Bingham, Adrian Dodson, Jonnie Owen RIP Kevin Lueshing.....all failed when they stepped it up against quality foreign level fighters. Hatton has the distinction at having basically cleared out his domestic and international competition, and has suceeded at 140/147 like a lot of Brits haven't. Even the talented Gary Jacobs couldn't secure a title at 147...albeit he tried his heart out against Pea Whittaker. But he also lost fights domestically. If he can beat Cotto, and secure a fight against Mayweather, I think Ricky will retire as one of the BEST ever to come out of Britain. Right up there with Lewis, Benny Lynch, Honeyghan. And remember, Ricky ain't lost yet.
No bullshit mate...he would sell out the City of Manchester Stadium, with ease. I think he could even beat Chavez-Haugen if they gave him a Stadium big enough. The other thing, of course, Joes demeanour doesn't help him sell. He is a loner, training in the Welsh Valleys. A mean spiteful son-of-a-bitch, yes, but Hatton has the common touch. Him and Cotto at the Garden...MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!
Who was "listening" in this version of Winter Wonderland that they were singing for Hatton? That was pretty cool. WAR HATTON!!
Ricky Hatton without F. Warren > Joe Calzaghe with F. Warren Hatton has beaten better fighters than Calzaghe period. Lacy is allegedly the second best name on Joe´s record. Tszyu and Castillo cannot reach the level of shotness that would bring them down to Lacy´s level. ::
