Eddie "Green Blouse" Cotton...damn I'd forgotten him. Glen Kelly did Mundine-Ottke. Glen is a good ref. He just didn't like that stinking Muslim Mundine making comments about his beloved NYC "deserving" to be attacked by a pack of stinking Camel Jockeys. So Glen counted to ten, nice and slow, and left Mundine there to rot. Good call, IMHO.
the belgian ref of Ottke-Reid ..... hideous myopic delusions he allowed twelve rounds of ottke headbutts, clinches, rabbit punches, and low-blows; he gave reid a formal warning for throwing punches, and deducted a point from him for being hit in the balls. he was never seen again. with his bribe pay-off from the fight, he bought a small boulangerie near Antwerp and spends his free-time walking his overweight poodle. the british government are still pursuing a trial in an international tribunal against him, want to try him for war-crimes.
the thing with cortez on saturday, he warned the fighters almost immediately in round 1, told them he wouldn't allow holding - then just gave up after that. hatton reduced the holding briefly (and was much more vulnerable), but resumed the Gracie-style shortly afterward. cortez must've got confused. if you see the kimbo-mercer mma fight, hatton uses the same grapple 'n' grind technique as kimbo slice, except without the kneeing (maybe he's saving that for floyd)
:crafty: Ironically,..HE was the first, and unfortunately last referee to pull 'some' of Fraud's illegal implements up, in Fraud's first fight with Castillo ofcourse. :crafty: Wise decision, wise decision.
Its hard to call Cortez a "bad" ref, washed up is more like it. At one point Cortez was one of the best in the sport, but certainly not now. Shady is just hella inconsistent. Lawrence Cole is a bad ref, as is Cotton.
Cappucino is senile as fuck! During Gatti-Ward I it was almost hilarious, Ward was pounding a helpess Gatti against the ropes, Gatti had his hands down and was just taking shots, and Frank looked like his mind was in another world.::
Lampley: Frank Cappucino, You Can Stop It Anytime!!! Cappucino:Nah, fuck that, this is way too much fun.
Vic Drakulich was a terrible referee. I remember the Lonnie Beasley\Julio Cesar Green fight, when seperating the fighters from a clinch in what was the last round of a pretty good fight, Drackulich pushed Beasley to the ground....and then waved the fight off, giving the win to Green by TKO. TFK
