Vernon "Viper" Forrest

What happened to him? It seems as though the man fell off the face of the earth when he got injured. I still remember when he gave Mosley a beating he was becoming the talk of the day in boxing. When he got flattened against Mayorga and got injured he dissapeared in boxing. People rarley talked about the man and until now he hasnt challenged no current champions. Fighting Baldomir dosent make sense. Whats up with Forrest?

 

his fight vs. baldomir is for the vacant wbc title. but even if he wins, who would want to fight him?

Thats cool! At least he is fighting for a title. I don't know who would want to fight him but it's hard to believe he was a p4p fighter and now it seems as though no one knows him.

Quartey was on queer street though in that fight in round 3. I thought if Forrest had followed up he could've put Ike down a few times.

 

it was a close fight. Forrest landed the bigger shots, and did more with his right hand and hooks than Quartey, who per usual, just threw the jab.

Forrest lost that goddamn fight. Everybody knew it, including Vernon, who sounded like he was trying to convince HIMSELF he won in the interview.

 

Yeah I have to agree that Forrest/Quartey decision was B.S I thought Ike dominated that fight.

 

forrest was good at one point but he's damaged goods now. no one cares much about him either, even haymon can't get him a decent slot on hbo. if he can't beat baldomir he's really in trouble cuz this guy has cashed out already.

 

He'll beat Bumlomir most likely. Though if Bumlomir pulls the upset, I'll LMAO and say good riddance to the python.

a prime Ike might have been KO'd by Viper. he was quicker and meaner back then, but careless as hell. if anything's improved about him, it's his respect for opponents.

 

Forrest was a 1 hit wonder who never deserved a p4p ranking. He has nobody to blame for the nosedive his career took but himself. He's the one who allowed cortozone injections into his injured shoulder fight after fight and not allowing it to heal properly. Then when he did have to sit and heal, his skills seemed to errode. He's too old to make any serious noise now, best he can do is win a title or 2 before he retires. He probably wouldn't be favored over Mosley at this point.

 

Didn't those tards walk with him to the ring against Mosley in their rematch?
