It's not conclusive of anything, but it's all I found right away. I agree it helps support your version, but there are solid counter arguments.

I was more interested in what the barrera/morales fights did as that's what kind of fight I see mayweather/hatton. But couldn't find the numbers.

I would rather see him fight shane or cotto also, I think he gets much more credit for a win vs those 2 but will take what I can get at this point.

Unless Floyd is simply adamant about his retirement, I am missing the whole point of him passing on this fight.

While I agree that Floyd's ego would prevent him from signing a contract which gave hime LESS than Hatton for a fight between the two, the fighting in Britain part seems trivial if Floyd indeed walks away with $10M.

Once they are in the ring, Hatton would clearly have the "I communicate with the ref and he obeys me" advantage, along with the likely poor scoring which will favor Hatton. But Floyd has never been one to need the ref to help him out, his style keeps him out of clinches and he is always moving & boxing. I don't think the ref would be much help to Hatton here.

Really the worst that could happen is that Floyd gets robbed. So what? In the minds of many fans he already lost to JLC. So people will say "Floyd got robbed" yada yada, and Floyd walks away with $10M and likely not a scratch on his face. Unless PBF really believes he may get knocked out, I don't see nearly enough down side to this fight to pass it up. I honestly believe that although Hatton would try hard for all 12 rounds, Floyd would embarass Hatton in this fight.

In addition, if you take out the DLH fight (which is unlikely to repeat itself) ,the $10M offer has got to be equal to the cumulative purse Floyd made in what.... his last 6 fights?? At this stage in Floyd's career, what could he possibly be fighting for if not paydays like this one? I would think that this is a fork in the road for PBF. Either take this pot of gold or stay retired for good. What other fight could possibly be made with this low level of risk accompanied by such a high payday?

Well obviously Floyd doesn't want an "L" on his record.

I really wonder how he'd react mentally to a defeat. Maybe he'd be like Foreman post-Zaire.

Mayweather made $5 mil against Judah and $8 mil against Baldomir.

He obviously wants big paydays, I just don't think he's willing to go to England for it.

It's basically either Hatton or Mosley for the big payday. Arum is not having Cotto in there this soon with Mayweather, he wants Cotto to fight Margarito if he gets past Williams.

So this would be the biggest payday Floyd has seen aside from Oscar. Which he'll never see again unless they rematch, which they won't.

Depending on how he does at the table, he could make $10 million fighting Mosley on PPV, if he's guaranteed a portion of the sales. Don't forget. The $25 mil he got fighting ODH was a function of the PPV sales, not so much the purse.

Still, Mosley seems like a tougher fight to me.

But fighting in Hatton's back-yard seems risky. And if PBF doesn't have his undefeated record, what does he have?

Huh? Hatton became the real champ at 140, when he beat Tszyu and why is Floyd the real champ at 147 AND 154. Who made DLH undisputed at 154? Are you kidding me? One win over Mayorga doesn´t mean sh*t.

If Floyd is THE champ at 147 then Hatton is THE champ at 140.

If Mayweather keeps talking about fighting Hatton, Mosley would look at it like Mayweather doesn't want to fight him, and move on and fight someone else...and Cotto has Margarito in October/November...

Outside of 135 and the PFP, Floyd ain't shit in terms of #1. And how the fuck do you get to be #1 by beating an Argie roadsweeper/journeyman...after fighting a guy he already beat???

Beating the Champ doesn't make him the best fighter. It just means he beat the Champ. Had he stuck around and cleaned out 147 then he'd be the best. I'm still hoping he does that.

But...he didn't stick around. Thats the point.

    He fought nobody at 140.
    He fought nobody at 147

For a small guy, he sure can Cherry Pick.

Fuck Ring. Fuck Brian Kinney, and the Boxing Media.

    Hows that??

Ko wins over Tszyu and Castillo, inter alia, put Hatton where he is.

I'd kill for a copy of Rings August 2000 issue.
