Ok, after years of denial and pain I finally sat down and watched Tito/Hopkins again. Yes my friends it was painful to watch but I also observed allot. Tito was head hunting for most of the fight and barley used hi right hand. Tito also abandoned his jab and didn’t move his head much. I think if a prime Tito would have used his jab (that he once had) and used his right hands and worked the body he would have made it much more competitive. However I feel even the best version of Tito would not beat <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:smarttags" /><st1:City><st1:place>Hopkins</st1:place></st1:City>. Bernard would always have the right combination of size, chin, and ring intelligence to beat Tito.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>
    <o:p></o:p>
    There I admitted it<o:p></o:p>

Peeps like to SAY that Tito got WHIPPED,DOMINATED or Whatever, but that was Actually a CLOSE Fight til about the 7th Round or So...

It's NOT like Bernard Beat Tito's Ass from the Very 1st Round...That Fight was COMPETITIVE for a Good Stretch...

I agree with Reed, there was a round where Tito was landing on Hopkins on the ropes and you could tell Bernard wasn't liking it. I think the fight really became a wash round 10-12. Tito looked dead tired for some reason.

    2 B Honest,REED has Never Scored the Fight Round-by-Round...

On POINTS,Bernard May have Been "Dominating",but as the Fight was Progressing,Tito Was VERY MUCH "In It",til Late...

if,If,IF he was Losing Rounds, they were CLOSE Rounds...REED Didn't Get the Sense that Tito was Gonna LOSE til Late, even if he was Behind on the Cards...

I think I've only seen the fight once, but I have to say I saw it differently. By the 4th or 5th round I thought tito didn't have a chance. It just seemed obvious he couldn't dent hops at all, and hops was getting more dominant as the fight went on.

from the very first round it was obvious tito didn't have the hand-wraps he'd need to do another job like he had done on Joppy.

but i agree. he was loading up like hell all through-out the fight - that's why he got so tired. and it played right into Hopkins' hands.

I just think at 160, the decrease in Tito's stamina and power really showed itself against class like Hopkins.

Yeah Joppy thought he could stand infront of Trinidad with both hands to his side...and not get blasted...

I guess the the cornerman/trainers of the other 40 Trinidad opponents before Hopkins never caught on to the handwrapping.....maybe Cheriffi's and Mayorga people forgot to check Tito handwrapping...

with a temple shot in close like he landed on Joppy. it'd be the perfect shot against pbf's defense.

I agree. I was rooting 4 Tito, but he never really did enough in any round. The rnd B4 he got stopped, I was saying to a friend that there was no way Tito would survive another round.

Bernard would have beaten any version of Trinidad, every day of the week and three times on Sundays.

In hindsight, what were those of us who picked Tito, thinking? :dunno:

    Styles mismatch!

I made money off of Everlast because of that fight. Some of the early rounds were close, but they were Hopkins'. He got stronger as the fight wore on, and he started landing BRUTAL bombs towards the end.

Tito did a funny dance at one point. :eeeek:

I remember the gif image of it. Cupey was a huge Tito fan, and someone said, "Look Carlos, Tito is marching for his Daddy!"

...And then there was the gif of Tito doing that dance. Pissed Cupey off bigtime if I recall correctly.
