it seems to me........................................that.......................................................ld: ld: ld: ld:
There's been like 3 of these this year. Why don't you go back like a month ago and read the one that was dedicated to him as he was about to bid farewell to HBO.
They didnt get red of him. They gave him another contract, but he is switching World Championship Boxing and BAD with KEllerman. He has been a lot better lately, well better then usual.
2009 with an option. EDIT: When they offered him BAD, he asked to be the matchmaker. They should have went for it.
(Miranda in the middle of getting his ass kicked by Pavlik) Lewis: "Miranda's a little rattled right now...." Merchant: "Why wouldn't he be?" Merchant can't conceive of the stupid things Lewis says. He doesn't understand that Lewis is just saying shit for the sake of saying it. It shows how genuine Merchant is in his passion for boxing. He doesn't understand that for some people it's just a job they're doing.
"Uhh.......I'm ok.....I'm ok....I'll make it....I'll make it. I.....I. This is what he was saying to the production assistant in Houston as he was holding onto the ring apron for support as he was so smashed he could barely stand.::
One of his best moments was when Norris and Taylor were fighting and Norris was doing jack shit for the first 30 seconds and Foreman was saying that Norris needed to hurry up and Merchant just exclaimed "Its the first round, George"
like Merchant knows anything about local prospects. He's too senile to be a matchmaker. they should've made Kellerman the match maker, then we'd get to see the likes of Spadafora-Malignaggi, Quintana-Judah, Powell-Stinks, Stinks-Santos, Byrd-Brock, Oquendo-Byrd II, Calderon-Grigsby....
Yeah he mentioned crunk being Southern slang and then said the fight figures to be crunk. It was right before the opening bell of Miranda-Pavlik. To Joe Goosen: "Please do not assist him in what to say....I will end this interview if you don't shut up!" Which fight was this one? Camacho-Leija?
What does he need to know about local prospects? ShoBox is one thing, BAD is different. Nobody wants to see local prospects on BAD. They want to see national prospects. I overheard Kellerman telling someone what the HBO brass said. They want him to study Merchant and basically play the same exact role...by exact, I mean same kinds of saying, providing the same input, etc... Basically they want Merchant but 40 years younger. Little do they know, Merchant's brain is a bit more advanced.
Exactly. I don't know what the point of knowing local prospects has to do with BAD...that's exactly the kind of fighters they shouldn't have on the show. You could hear Kellerman trying to play the role of Merchant with his pre-bell comments for Hatton-Castillo (too bad his voice gave out while he was saying "....Castillo-Hatton?").
"Where have you gone Joe Louis, a lonely boxing nation stares at you..."Immediately after Maskeav knocks out American Rahman.
This is General Discussion, fella. Stick to boxing and boxing only. Pug can vouch for me as he was there and Mr. Merchant was under the influence of something. He was swaying like he had just been nailed by a Joe Frazier left hook. Go back and read my report from that day, hero.
