Undoubtedly Drago-Creed!! Unfortunately, there'll be no Rocky in this real life drama to avenge Evander's untimely demise.
Imagine if Holyfield beats Wlad ! that's right imagine cuz you will never see it happen in reality...Wlad KO2
Does Holyfield have money trouble? I just don't understand why he keeps fighting. Have you seen his house? It must cost a fortune maintaining tht thing, and it is so personalized that I think he would have a hard time selling it. Maybe it's all the child support and alimony?
Maybe, and that is a good point. Whatever the case may be, Wlad has a fight on his hands if this comes off.
dsimon writes: I can see Karl's point in so far as Holy won't back down when he tastes leather. Thats a start.
You really think so? I don't even pay much attention to boxing anymore, but I don't see how Holy give Wlad much trouble. How do you think Holy could win?
I will give Wlad a 75 percent chance of victory here. Still, he has a fatal flaw of bringing his left hand back low after jabbing and hooking, and Evander is very adept at putting a right hand over that opening and following through.
True...but Holy would never get close enough to do it consistently. And fighting Wlad is entirely different from fighting Savarese.
Amazing, but that was one of same knocks against Lennox Lewis leading up to his first fight with Holyfield.. I was one of the true believers that just knew Evander would continuously catch Lennox with straight right hands over the top of a lazy jab that was pulled back low and slow. Didn't happen then and I doubt Evander has the reflexes to pull the trigger on it now.
You are not going to walk right through Evander Holyfield, bottom line. He is healthy now, and is always in top shape. He has already resumed training as a matter of fact. steve_dave for instance put in his signature with a laughing face when I said that I think Evander can win a portion of the title again, and technically he has since he won a minor version when he beat Fres Oquendo. No, I am not picking Hoyfield to beat Klitschko for the third time now, ok? What I am saying is if anyone expects a repeat of what happened yesterday, they are in for a letdown as it is going to be a pitched battle in there for the heavyweight title, a real fight.
uhhh Karl..... James, frickn Toney stopped Evander....you know, the POWERFUL heavyweight, James Toney:tease: :: Nuff said, evanders time has come and gone...
I don't have any desire to see Evander Holyfield fight Klitschko, but Toney was obviously a different fighter then from just about any fighter in the division currently...he was in pretty good shape still (before he really began exploring the unlimited weight expansion that the heavyweight division allows), was able to counterpunch Holyfield effectively and gave him an absolute beating to the body. Needless to say, that wouldn't be big part of Klitschko's tactics against him...though I think the other parts of his arsenal will do well enough. If anything, let Holyfield fight Vitali Klitschko...someone he's actually been busier than the last few years. ::
Karl, I'll refrain from name calling, but some of your assertions in this thread deserve them. Giving Holy a 25% chance to beat Wlad and claiming that whatever Holy won against Oquendo is 'technically' a portion of the heavyweight title are real gems.
Holyfield hasn´t knocked out a decent fighter since Michael Moorer ten years ago, but now he´s supposed to drop the heavyweight champs left and right at age 44. ::
Then you and Karl are both losing it. Arturo Gatti was a guy that didn't back down as soon as he tasted leather...still...Oscar De la Hoya and Floyd Mayweather both literally almost killed him in under 6 rounds each. I actually predict Wlad by fatality in under 4 rounds.
I hope Wlad has a good lawyer, because Homicide is a tough charge to beat. This fight is another black eye for boxing if it is allowed to happen. TFK
I wish it were true Karl. As I was at one time(and probably still am:: )a big Evander fan. What's not to like. But the matchup with Wlad is just a huge mismatch. Wlad is too smart at this stage in his career. The KO's actually did him alot of good:: However. I will stand here and say that if Holy fights Sultan, he wins. I also think he beats Oleg. He should go after Sultan and get the belt. Then go get paid (and KO'd) by Wlad.
