fuck looking back. I'd rather gaze at that bank statement with the 8 figures I made from the fight. will either calzaghe or kessler be pocketing an 8 figure payday for this one?

Calzaghe will but they haven't told Kessler. Yet. They'll tell him, oh, around 4 minutes before it starts. Then we'll sit back, kick back, and enjoy.

WTF are you talking about? The stinkiest fighter in the sport right now is from UK (Hatton). And Slappy himself is a terrible stinker of a fighter (disgusting). And Valuev? Boring as fuck. Wlad? Boring as fuck. Ottke? Boring as hell. Maske? Boring as hell.

If it makes 2,000,000+ PPV buys..AT $55.00 apiece it will be bigger than DLH vs. PBF otherwise......its NOT.

Spinks ain't exciting but at least he can live in the ring without body-raping his opponent for 2 1/2 minutes of every round.

Possible outcome for sure. But I think that if Joe still has enough in his legs, he should be able to outmanuever the somewhat stationary Kessler on his way to a UD. Nonetheless, its great this fight has been made.

They dont, they both had agreed on September 22nd. HBO didn't like that date, since they had 2 PPV's close by (Marquez-Barrios Sep.15 and Pacquiao-Barrera Oct.6) also HBO weren't to kean on coughing up the 5 million $ Warren asked for for the US television rights.

Currently they are negotiating with both HBO and Showtime, and i guess they needed some time to get that wrapped up.

:dunno: I still don't know what Joe apparently does better than Kessler, perhaps he has a stamina advantage, but Mikkel EASILY has the power advantage, along with the better footwork and defence, better combination punching, and more accurate too, better jab, as for the "speed" I'm not sure who has the advantage, if Calzaghe does have the edge in speed, it's only because he doesn't commit to his punches, opens his hands and slaps, allowing them to ''look faster'', he's clearly inlove with the idea of handspeed, and that's sweet against an overmatched opponent in an exhibition like Manfredo jr, but this fight will require ALL of Joe's ability and concerntration to even make it competitive. Personally, I think Kessler definitely has the edge in speed to a ''proper punching'' ratio.

Joe's going down,..he really is in trouble,...however,...:bears: credit to him for revealing his grey balls, atlast.

Credit to both for taking this fight, if it happens.

I've been a huge supporter of Kessler since the first couple of times I saw him fight several years ago, but he's been something of a rumor to most until the Andrade fight.

I like him in this fight, but it should be a good one.

Hopefully there's clear skies in Cardiff for this one.

What's Kessler's chin like? I've not seen a great deal of him tbh. I'd say Joe has a solid chin. Anyway, i can't wait for teh fight.

Bollocks to that! Look at any other sport and the best athletes/players TRIVE to play in the biggest games/the biggest events/on the biggest stage.

If i was a MULTImillionaire and HoFer, all i'd be looking for is great events and occasions for ME to look back on. Say i had £25million in the bank, near the end of a great career, and i have a choice of either £4mil to fight before 70,000 fans or £10mill to fight before 15000, i sincerely believe i'd choose the greater occasion and the larger gate.

It's easy to say that, but a little different when more millions are offered to you, and you're used to spending a lot more.

A lot of basketball players are filthy rich, but you rarely see them re-negotiating their contract to get paid less so another quality player can join the team and they can have a much better chance at reaching the championship.

Ringside seats cost $1100. The cheapest tickets are around 85$. If they do 50000 plus, which is realistic given Calzaghe/Manfredo drew 35000, you probably look at a gate of 8-12 million US-Dollars.

From Oscar´s standpoint I would have held that fight in the Rose Bowl or Mexico. It would not have cost them much in terms of live gate and it would not have been such a bad long-term business move from GBP´s standpoint either, if they put 3-4 of their fighters on the undercard. Think any of these 15000 will return to attend a Rey Bautista bout. Put it in a stadium and the dude has new fans.

Could the Rose Bowl or a place in Mexico afford the site fee that the MGM Grand put up?

The live gate from the fight is only part of the insane amount of money that the MGM Grand made that weekend.
