Jones was one-dimensional and couldn't cut the ring off at all, which was the main reason he narrowly lost the two fights with McCrory. He did have solid textbook offensive skills,good chin, a very heavy jab and was a huge puncher especially with the left hook. In other words, more than enough to give the less skilled, immobile and lighter punching Mayorga a terrible beating after a competitive first few rounds.
