I see a lot of people underrating Margarito now that he lost a competitive fight with Paul Williams, mostly Fraud nuthuggers.

But the truth is, based on styles, Paul Williams would skunk Fraud 120-108 if they ever fought. Margarito isn't a shit fighter or on the same level as MAYORGA , he just got blitzed by a guy who threw 1300 punches, is 6'1, and a southpaw.

Imagine Fraud trying to potshot a quick, mobile, 6'1, southpaw throwing 1300 punches at 147?

Fraud better stay away from Paul Williams because there's going to be a lot of teenyboppers crying their hearts out if Fraud gets humiliated.

First off, I'm not a Margarito fan by any means.

That being said, Margarito is a relentless stalker in the Castillo style, and Castillo beat your boy arguably the first time.

Margarito would give Floyd a lot of trouble.

But Paul Williams would absolutely SKUNK the shit out of Fraud.

I don't think Fraud would nut up and fight Paul, but if they did fight, I'd put a $5,000 bet on Paul through SportsBook because it would be easy money.

As if Fraud would even dare to fight either of them, he has already said "who's Paul Williams" on Boxingtalk,..Fraud won't fight any big dangerous welterweight,.. Hatton's a juicy little biddy target for Fraud because he's sizeably similar to the plankton he used to inhale back at 130.

Fraud says that about every fighter who is a threat. He called Cotto unproven, he's called Margarito "no money", and Paul Williams a nobody.

If we are to believe Floyd, the only people worth fighting are Shane Mosley and Dela Joto.

Margarito throws alot of punches and is relentless but he doesn't throw sharp/straight punches like Castillo. Mayweather will see all those punches coming from a mile away...Mayweather will rip Margarito face to pieces...

I think Floyd would win, but I don't think it would be easy.

Floyd wouldn't land 10% of his punches on Paul though.

I disagree. Floyd may not fight at the drop of a hat but he has beat a lot of guys who were credible opponents.

It is silly to think, after the Williams fight, that Margarito would touch Floyd. People might have a hard time admitting it, because Floyd is such an arrogant pissant... but he was absolutely right not to waste his time and energy on Margarito.

AS far as a fight with Williams, I do maintain that Floyds weaknesses would best be exposed against a fellow slickster. But Margarito was right in front of Paul all night... Floyd would not be in front of Williams. Floyd has footwork and technical skills to counter a fellow slickster. Floyd punches straight, so williams would not get their first. Floyd might even be faster than williams.

It is a pipe dream to assume Wiliams would dominate Floyd because he looked so good against Margarito:dunno:. Props to the kid, he is well on his way but lets be real Alabama! Sweet Pea would dominate Floyd:bears:

Dsimon bro, Paul is a 6'1 southpaw cutie, probably the worst thing imaginable in the welterweight division.

Fraud has NEVER seen anything like Paul, and every one of Floyd's strengths is negated in a potential matchup.

    Speed - Equal
    Footwork - Equal

I don't think Fraud would get KO'd or even hurt during the fight but he would get outscored and look clueless trying to get in for 12 rounds. Floyd doesn't know how to fight a guy when he has to be the attacker and press forward.

    A southpaw cutie???

Then man gets hit at will and he's a southpaw cutie???

Williams is easily my favorite fighter right now but come on, enough with the flames :stir: The hyperbole on a good win is getting out of hand and it'll backfire big time if not put in check.

Margarito only started landing upstairs in the later rounds when Paul was getting tired. Up until that point Margarito could only land to the body sporadically.

Paul has good footwork and was moving his head a LOT better than previous fights. He's going to get better too.

it might take a while because everyone's probably going to duck Williams, but i think ultimately we will see that the two best welter-weights in the world fought last night.

and what people don't seem to realize is that Margarito's shots are NOT easy to see coming. he throws some sneaky shit in there, and has good timing.

i love when he throws his lazy right hand just to set up his left upper-cut. he nailed Williams with that combination all night long.

also, it was amazing Williams took all the shots he did. i was sure he'd be knocked out by the kinds of shots he took. and i think most welter-weights would've.

nah, Cotto wouldn't beat Williams or Margarito. Hopefully, that will be proven soon. My guess is Cotto won't go near Williams, and he now has no reason to fight Margarito. He'll probably fight Gomez next.

:nono:Margarito thought he would have an easy time with Williams, so he PULLED out of the Cotto fight....Williams needs to prove more and build his fanbase before he start calling out the big names....

i agree to a point, but the difference in skill and speed of Mayweather and Margarito is staggering.

If you think Williams is gonna throw 1100 punches against Floyd, you are kidding yourself, and if u think Floyd wouldn't step up the pressure against someone with charmin soft hands, you are also kidding yourself.

I think it'd be a close fight because of styles, but Floyd is still light yers better than margarito

As a Floyd fan, I wont pretend like Williams is an easy fight for Floyd. He's a physical nightmare for Floyd actually. I thought this even BEFORE last night. 5'7-5'8 Floyd who likes to counter, and doesnt have much a workrate nowadays vs 6'2-6'3(6'1 my ass, he's taller than that!) Williams who has high workrate. That equals BIG problems for Floyd. He would hit Williams alot, but his shots do nothing to Paul, and in the process he could certainly get outworked. Saying Floyd wouldnt win a round is an exaggeration, cause Floyd is too talented to be shut out by ANYONE, but from 147-154, I'd say Williams CERTAINLY has the best chance of beating Floyd.

Phony Margarita has the least chance of beating Floyd. I'd give Williams, Mosley, Hatton, Cotto, and even CINTRON a better chance of beating Floyd than I would Phony. Phony is so goddamn slow, of both hand and foot that Floyd would see his punches coming from a lightyear away. Sure he'd have his moments where he could get Floyd in a corner and bang against his arms, and shoulders, completely missing his head most times, getting in a few to the head, but so what? If Floyd can take Oscar's best hooks, than NOTHING Phony throws is hurting him, and for the most part, Floyd would keep Phony in center ring and pot shot him, making him look like the limited sloth that he is.

Williams' win over Margarito is every bit what he needs to deserve a shot at Cotto. build his fan-base? what better way to do that than to beat the likes of Cotto? quit making excuses. Williams beat the guy who Cotto was gonna fight next. he deserves the shot. and we both know Cotto is gonna duck him and probably fight another Urkal.

I predict a shutout, but Fraud might find a way to win 2 rounds out of 12.

But we BOTH know, Fraud won't fight Paul anyway. All of this talk in this thread is mythical.

    Happy now?

I agree, if the powers that be are just, Williams deserves the big money fight against Cotto. But we know they aren't, Margarito - Cotto in the Fall. :cheer:
