Nobody cares about boxing anymore, all the talent is getting into other sports and I don't blame them. The talent is seriously lacking in boxing and its going too get worse and worse.

You could be right. But right now I'm just really looking forward to football. I miss watching McNabb throw some bombs. Once Sept gets here the hell with boxing.

The people in this thread have no idea what they are talking about. There is plenty of talent in boxing.

did the people in this thread not watch the under-card or what?

Kats is awesome to watch. And Linares could be a phenom. Even the guy Kats beat is very tough.

Anyone who expected an exciting fight between Wright and Hopkins would have to be either crazy or stupid.

I predict Forrest, who's clearly past it, will wipe out Fraud's "2006 fighter of the year resume", with such an EASE that it will even have me angry about it.

Really? Where is it? You people are so in denial. Boxing is truely on it's last legs. Hell even HBO has already signed up it's replacement as it will soon quietly show boxing right out the door. Look, I'm as upset about it as anyone, but I won't deny what is painfully obvious. There is no dominate talent replacing the ones we're losing, which is why we're still holding on to those old guys. Can you name a new dominate guy other than Cotto? Think about all the guys who came out of his olympic class that are no longer relavant.

    Williams - a lazy fatass.
Bojado - typical all talent no dedication. (There's at least 1 in every class)
Juarez - Wasn't bad but already has big losses and seems to be receding.
Lacy - Exposed as all muscle and no substance or skills.
Taylor - Peaked years ago, and has yet to impress.
Diaz - Diaz, still undefeated and I'm still unimpressed. Does anyone see this guy as being a real elite threat?
Hatton - Like JT, may have already peaked. Failed to move up in weight and has recently picked up a style reserved for guys over the hill.
Olajade - Was nice but gave up the sport to play Jazz.

And don't even bring up the HW division.

Yeah, Kats was pretty good even though he makes Hatton's facial skin seem like leather. Still, overall I thought the card as a whole sucked and was glad I didn't pay for it. I laugh inside everytime I think of the people who tried to convince themselves and others that Hops-Wright would be exciting. Expect another dull fight next week with a clinch-happy-minimallyaggressive-over-thehillbeforehistime guy named Forrest fights an old soft punching overacheiver in Baldomir.

Chad Dawson is a great American talent, p4p quality already in my opinion, same with Paul Williams,.. :nono: and by the way, Shane aint going anywhere :nono: , in an athletical sense, he looks damn sexy for 35, he'll be up there for ten more years, he looks after himself...aint no way he can put up with that bitch in his house for 24 hours a day either so don't be quick to believe any of this retirement talk.

Blah, blah, blah. There's pretty good talent in about every damn division in the top few guys. If you can't see that you don't follow boxing that close and I don't know what to tell you. Boxing is dead, blah,blah,blah......no it's not.

So, Baldomir is looking to regain his stranglehold on 147-154? At one point the guy was THE best fighter at 147, having disposed of Judah (the best win on Zoo's resume) and Clottey (the best win on the Fagarito resume).
Victory over Forrest will propel Carlos to the top of the division again.

    Ever Heard of Manny Pac???...Raffy Marquez???...Juan Diaz???:dunno:

Like him or Not,Ricky Hatton is BONAFIED "Star" N Boxing...

Kelly Pavlik Could B HUGE for the Sport,if he Beats Taylor...He could Generate Boom Boom ManciniESQUE Appeal N a MORE MAINSTREAM Weight Class than Mancini Fought @...

If Kessler Beats Calzaghe,he's YOUNG Enough to Become a STAR...Chad Dawson could Conceivably Become a Star...He DEFINITELY has some Talent...Paul Williams could Win Title All the Way Up to Supermiddle or Light Heavy...

REED Doesn't Think we've Heard the Last of Edison Miranda or Allan Green,either...

& to Top it Off,Next Year is an OLYMPIC Year,so we'll have a Whole NEW CROP of Talent to Get Interested N...

REED just can't Understand the "Doom & Gloom" Mentality that Some of ya'll have...

The people who say boxing is dying simply don't follow very closely. There has been a ton of good this year to go along with the usual bad.

After FOOLISHLY Predicting that Hopkins-Winky would B "Entertaining", Perhaps REED is just Toooooooo Damn OPTIMISTIC...Having Said that, REED Actually Thinks Forrest-Baldomir will B BETTER than Anticipated:lol: ...

For a "Boxer",Forrest has ALWAYS had POOR Footwork/Balance & he's NEVER Been Terribly STRONG...

That Tells REED that Baldomir WILL B Able to Stay Close to Forrest & he's DEFINITELY STRONGER than Forrest...This Could Resemble the Mayorga Fights,SLIGHTLY...

Baldomir ISN'T as Physically Gifted as Mayorga (MUCH Slower,Doesn't Hit as HARD),but he's Got that Same Type of PERSISTENCE...

This Fight will DEFINE Baldomir,N REED's Opinion...Is he the Guy we Saw Against Zab & Gatti OR is he as AVERAGE as he Looked Against Floyd (& for the MAJORITY of his Career???)...

Because of his STYLE,Forrest HAS to WIN to Stay RELEVANT...

This Fight is Important to BOTH Guys...

No mention of Pac, Bautista, Donaire?

Is boxing only limited to latin america and the United States?

You guys need to check out asian boxing if you think there are no more stars. Light flyweight to flyweight is stacked with asian talent!!

REED's Hasn't Seen Enough of Bautista to Speak on him,1 Way or the Other...The ONLY Fight of his that REED has EVER Seen was on the Floyd-DeLa Undercard...

Baustita was Dominant EARLY,then Got BADLY Hurt & had to Dig a Little to Win the Decision...

REED Had NEVER Heard of his Opponent & Can't Remember his Name Today...

Bautista had his hands tied by the ref though, whoever that fat faggot was. He was calling "low blows" on Bautista and even deducted a point on questionable punches. That made Bautista stop his body attack which is a big part of his game.

The opponent was Sergio Medina. He was a 28-0, 2-time Olympian prospect from Latin America. Bautista got hurt but came back to drop Medina hard and took a fairly wide decision.

Bautista fights in a style very similar to Felix Trinidad except Bautista has less power P4P and concentrates on the body a bit more. He's going to fight Ponce De Leon in August for the WBO title, and I'll say it right now that he's going to either school or stop Plodder De Leon by the late rounds.
