    Mayweather-Hatton Bout is Getting Close.

    By Mark Vester

According to a report in the Manchester Evening News, promoter Dennis Hobson is currently involved in very serious talks with the advisers of WBC welterweight champ Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and HBO regarding a potential Ricky Hatton-Mayweather bout.

It was said by the paper that Hobson and Hatton are expected to find out in the next 48-hours if the fight is a done deal.

If the fight falls apart, Oscar De La Hoya has shown interest in fighting Hatton in Wembley, but that encounter would not take place until 2008.

Both sides are looking at November 10 as the pay-per-view date, with a yet to be announced Las Vegas venue being the site.

A reliable source told MEN Sport: "It's getting very, very close and I reckon that the next 24 hours will decide things one way or the other, 48 hours at the most, as it will take 24 to come to an agreement and another 24 to run it past all parties."

Ah Agreed,..:bears: agreed,..if he fought Hatton and Fraud, those are some INCREDIBLE names on his resume, imagine that! having Fraud and Hatton on your resume!!! ..look at those NAMES!!!...anyone who beats Fraud and Hatton HAS to be p4p4p4p4p4p4p4p4p4p4p no 1#....

Fuck Jermaine Taylor, Hopkins dont need him,.. Taylor can stick to bullying physically inferior fighters.

i mean mayweather is going to be the favorite, so if he wins, is he really exposing anything if thats what he supposed to do? there is no shame in losing to mayweather, there is no shame in losing in boxing to another very good or in mayweathers case great fighter

Honestly, this is the easiest fight Floyd could take and I fully believe that is why he is looking to fight Hatton. Floyd moves up to 154 to face Oscar and then fights a guy two weigh classes below that? At least fight a damn welterweight. It's clear that Floyd is looking for the least risk most reward, and IMO that doesn't make anyone a great fighter.

    Floyd beats Hatton easy.

You mean, Floyd is looking for an easy way out by fighting the guy who made Zoo quit?

Hatton is tiny,..I was shocked to see how much larger Castillo was than he,.. but Fraud punches like a pussy,..and Hatton's is a wreckless, dirty bastard, with EXCELLENT feet,...Hatton's feet and the fact that he's a ring troll,..is what makes this fight compelling.

I see this going the distance, with one or the other crying about referee bias.

Well, you see, I just like the idea that Mayweather will humiliate the guy who made Zoo quit. Not only will PBF win, he will NOT quit on his stool, like certain Australian fraud.

Good, this fight is overdue for two years.

Hatton will be better physically this time @ 147 since last time the move up was on short notice.

I'd still rather see PBF-Cotto over any fight @ 147 though.

yeah. i think it caught ODH off guard that PBF was planning to go down two weight divisions to find his next opponent.

The problem is this fight should have happened more than two years ago. It should've been when Floyd, Cotto, and Hatton were all at 140 and all were belt holders. Now Floyd wants to fight the 140 champ to keep all of us from wondering why he isn't fighting any 147 pound champs. Floyd wants nothing to do with Mosely neither

Good technique by Floyd. Let Shane wait and get that much older. Every little bit will help him.

    No he's not.

Cotto is the toughest fight for Floyd besides Williams.

    # 1,Floyd was NEVER a Jr. Middle...What did he Weigh,150???...

#2,REED GuaranFUCKINGtees that there WILL B a Catchweight for Floyd-Hatton...

    Floyd WILL NOT Meet Hatton @ 140:nono: ...REED Expects a Cut-Off of 143-144 or So...OR they'll just Meet @ 147...

As Usual,U're Talking Shit out of BOTH Ends...If Floyd is Going Down 2 Divisions, then just HOW MANY is YOUR Favorite Fighter "Going Down",since he has TWO MIDDLEWEIGHT Fights on his Ledger...

NOW,after LOSING to a BLOWN Up Floyd,he's Gonna Go Pick on "Little" Ricky Hatton???..

YOUR HYPOCRISY is Alarming,Dog...YOU'LL GLADLY Co-Sign on ANYTHING DeLa Does, yet U Piss & Moan when Other Cats Do the same Shit...

The difference is, in my opinion, that Hatton can close the distance very quickly on every given angle,..he's got feet like a little pugnacious wallaby, this should fluster Fraud alot,..and when they're in close, and Fraud is angering Hatton with that twisting ducking shoulder roll shit,..the little deviant will have no qualms cracking Fraud's various accesories in frustration. I think if the ref is liberal, it'll be quite a test for Fraud to go through the manchester treatment, remember Fraud's reactions when he took Judah's little slot to the jewells?... I wonder how he'd fair with Hatton's "horoshima" that drained Tszyu's life bar with one fatal blow, Hatton proved in that fight that he can split 'atoms' like no other.

Floyd would "VIRTUOUSO" Margarito, don't think otherwise Double L.

Of course after the fight you'll be complaiing about how Floyd chose to run instead of fight and complain about how Margarito didn't throw as many punches as he should have done or gone to the body more often and all that shit...at which point i would counter that Floyd didn't allow him with his style...at which point you'll say that the Paul Williams fight took everything out of Margarito, and that Margarito is weightdrained and should be fighting at 154lbs now and that Floyd ducked cotto.

    You're a predictable JOKE!

    Bullshit!

Cotto may punch harder than Hatton..but Hatton is tougher, throws more punches and is overall more difficult to deal with.
