Vazquez could possibly beat Raffy in the rematch. Was rewatching that fight last night and Vazquez landed a lot, and was never seriously hurt by Raffy (not in the sense that he ever lost his legs or was in danger of touching the canvas - obviously the punches hurt and his nose especially). Plus, Vazquez landed a lot of jabs on Marquez, and was working the body well. If the nose truly was some sort of freak occurrence, then I see no reason Vazquez can't come on late and stop the tiring Marquez. Still, Marquez will land. And plenty of shots. So if Vazquez's nose injury wasn't a freak occurrence, then it's likely he'll suffer another similar injury and then probably lose.
I can't wait for this title match.I thought as the fight went on Vasquez was getting to Marquez, sucks he had nose problems
Vazquez has a problem with his nose and Marquez always busts up people. And Marquez did hurt Vazquez at the end of round one and later again.
Marquez gave him his nose problems. Vazquez quit, Marquez won, I hate the revisionist bullshit at work already. If he thought he was getting to Marquez he should have continued.
nobody's discrediting Marquez's win (at least I know I'm not). and nobody is making excuses for Vazquez either. this is more about what to expect in the rematch.
I am not so sure Vazquez is going to win based on the camp (s) he has had. Justin to Joe Goossen to Justin again then to I think Rudy Perez, Barrera's trainer who is also working with Barrios. It's been stop and go all through camp
Wont: Maskaev Mormeck Calzaghe Taylor Ricky Hatton Juan Diaz Valero Fagquez Calderon Will: Wladimir Pacquiao Donaire Condes Caballero Cotto Mayweather Abraham
is rudy perez getting to train these guys simply because of barreras affiliation with golden boy? the guy never impressed me as much of a trainer.
you know I thought that too but I heard Rudy may not train Barrera for this fight. He was telling Steve that they have yet to approach him about it and he fears it will be a low figure since this is Marco's last fight and he probably wants to keep costs down. Roberto Diaz his advisor might also be out as well. Rudy was in South El Monte training Barrios when Vazquez ended up there so I think thats he got that gig.
i was gonna say marco should follow the trend and go w/ freddie, but i forgot who he was fighting. ::
WILL Wlad, Chad Dawson, Kessler, Floyd, Paul Williams, Juan Diaz, Rafael Marquez WON'T Mormeck, Calzaghe, Taylor, REED
money plain and simple Top Rank gave Justin the check for the Manny Solis fight and Justin kept it with the thinking since he did the majority of the training he should be the one getting the money. Same witht he Vazquez fight. In the end Freddie came back and told him to leave he is at the Lb 4 Lb gym in LA now I think
