Did Hopkins really look like he still has his legs for 12 rounds without holding every 15 seconds?

Did Trinidad really look like a professional fighter eating the most basic punch in the sport for twelve rounds, without showing absolutely anything in return?

You Trinidad fans crack me up. You have absolutely no idea of which you speak.

 Trinidad should stay retire if the intations of coming back is to fight Hopkins,WInky,Calslappy,Jones...etc...

If he returns he should have a few tune ups....at 160....maybe later on in a year or so..after 3-4 tune ups fight the Winner of Taylor vs. Pavlik...thats a winnable fight....

Hey, I'm as big a Trinidad fan as you can be, but I know Tito is clearly delusional if he thinks he can hang in the ring with Hopkins. The fans that think he can too, Hopkins just clearly beat the guy that beat Tito about 12-0. Winky was a bit heavier but was pratically the same fighter. Also add the fact that Tito was ALSO dominated by Hopkins and you have to wonder why he's even thinking about this fight. Tito should stay home and find a new hobby.

There was absolutely nothing in their first fight, when Tito was in his prime, to indicate that today's version of Trinidad doesn't get destroyed even more badly.

Good for him! People here will start talking alot of shit giving Tito no chance. He deserves a rematch. It's because of Tito that Hopkins now is where he is. Trinidad is a great fighter, and we feels he can beat Hopkins. Let him try. I have seen some crazy shit happen before. Hopkins is 42 yrs old and he didnt look to good last time around.

Maybe he has the same ambitions as Roy against Tarver. Improve the result from the last fight. I could see him last the distance if he runs. Btw is Tito the last fighter Hopkins ever knocked out.

Fuck that! He deserves to have a rematch! He gave Hopkins a opportunity and never was granted a rematch. He feels he can beat him well let him try! Barrera was starched against Pac but he's going to try again in a rematch! So what if Tito gets ko'd, at least he tried to beat him. What if for some crazy chance Tito ko's Hopkins? What will you all say?

Granted a rematch? He retired and then came back to get totally dominated by Wright. He didn't want a rematch directly after he unretired and happened to get schooled while working for it.

Ohh please double l. Trinidad doesnt deserve shit, Hopkins dominated him. Hopkins didnt look good last time out? What did he look like clearly beating a P4P fighter who had been undefeated for how many years? How did Trinidad look in his last outing?

Tito still bites the dust versus Hopkins unless he totally changes his style. If he uses more caution, he might last the distance. If no, he eats too many of Hopkins' right hands again.

Oh my God. Tito never learns. 2 things here.

1- Fighting at 170 is not a good idea for Tito who is not even a big middle.

2- Tito needs to stay away from slick boxers that have good defensive and counterpunching skills.

Tito should make fights at 160 vs De La Hoya, or Shane Mosley, and if he is a winner against either, then try and take out Jermain Taylor or something.

Tito needs to keep hitting the punching bag, he looks really impressive doing that and that's about the only opponent he can look impressive against now adays.

Trinidad should just fight some easy stiffs in Puerto Rico or New York to give his fans something to cheer about and a better last memory of him than getting outlanded by a ratio of over 4-1 and losing 12-0.

You're going to be dissapointed Hex. Hopkins didn't look good against Wright. Who has EVER looked good against Wright? At least he won while not looking great. Tito took a 12 round beating from Wright.

It's bad news for your boy hex, bad news.

but to steer back on course...

The thread starter believes Hopkins, who dominated Tito over 11 1/2 rounds before forcing a mercy stoppage, didn't look very dominant against Wright, who just two years ago and in his middleweight debut dominated Tito over 12 rounds and a shutout decision... yet that adds up to Trinidad having a better chance this time around? :dunno:

As for the Pac-Barrera reference - Barrera at least came back and beat Morales a year later, and also scored decent wins against respectable 130 lbers. And all that said - still nobody, or at least very very few, give him a chance against Pac in October.

The article also mentions possible bouts with Roy Jones in January (to "confirm" an earlier rumor that such a bout was discussed)... and Floyd Mayweather
