Maskaev-Peter contracts signed! By Matt Richardson FightNews has been informed that promoters Don King and Dennis Rappaport have signed the contracts for WBC heavyweight champion Oleg Maskaev to defend his title against #1 WBC and mandatory challenger Samuel Peter on October 6th at The Garden. The highly anticipated Maskaev-Peter showdown will be televised on a premium network.
Who cares. They both suck ass anyway. This is like asking what car you would like to see win the race , the 1987 Ford Escort or the 1986 Chevette ..
Sure takes a long f*cking time for these bastards to negotiate a fight. Peter hasn't fought since Toney II last year.
I don't think Peter sucks, he showed some improvement both physically and skill-wise in his last fight.
the toney rematch was in january, but yea he is coming off like a 9 month layoff. but then again, maskaev is old as fuck and hasn't been to active himself.
He's a fat slow slob with little skill. The guy is 26 and can't control his weight. He managed to lose an extra 9 pounds or so for the rematch with Toney and was still fat. By the time he is 30 years old , he will be 300 pounds.
maskaev blows, but imagine if he some how beat peter. mccall would then get a title shot and knock his ass out. hahhaha
Hell, Maskaev hasn't fought since Rahman Talk about how out of shape these guy's will be!! Maybe they'll "FEEL ALIVE" after they get few rounds under their belts::
Yeah, against Peter Okhello. I think it was the first heavyweight title fight in Russian history. FSN televised it on tape delay.
I'll take the 1 Dimensional fighter over the 0 Dimensional fighter by brutal KO in the 4th round. TFK
If its a Cosworth Escort....we already know the answer. If its the Series I RS Turbo...we already know the answer. They kicked ass. You see, there are many forms of White Heavyweight, just as there were many forms of Ford Escort. And Oleg is the type of a white heavy that is the type of an escort that isn't about to lose to a front wheel drive, 16 Bhp grocery-getter like Fat Sam Peter.
 You don't even try to hide it whitey. I agree that the jury is still out on Peter,..he fought James Toney who was coming off a loss to Hasim Rahman (to be real), and Peter was made to look like a dunce which caused a great deal of commotion and screams for a rematch, granted that Peter wins the rematch decisively, but then Toney loses to a journeyman in his next outing,..that's a pretty alarming sandwich,...I also can't help but reminisce on the range of comments that were made about 'glass chinned' Maskaev, before he was thought to be on his death march into the ring against Samil Sam,.. Sinan was shut out, and had his jaw broken for his troubles. I don't think Maskaev will replicate that kind've damage on Peter, but a points victory is worthy of a punt.
