by Adam Berlin Like prize roosters, chests puffed, posing and preening before the real action begins, Fernando Vargas and Ricardo Mayorga put on a pre-fight show at the Affinia Manhattan Hotel on Seventh Avenue, the New York City stop of their press tour. Don King, looking like a circus barker with his flags and jewels and glittering garb, not to mention his trademark hair, called this show "the most provocative press conference we've ever seen." King, whose very name is hyperbolic, may not have been exaggerating. I've been to many press conferences and this one was, at least on the surface, out of control. http://www.fightbeat.com<wbr>/article_detail.php?AT=457 - Full Story
this will be a great fight, not a great boxing performance, but a great fight to watch and thats what boxing needs right now. Is this fight free? Is the entire undercard out yet?
nope, pay-per-screw. not sure on the full undercard. I do know that Collazo and Sharmba Mitchell are fighting each other, presumably in an eliminator of sorts. And Kermit Cintron is fighting Jesse Feliciano, though unsure if the IBF is sanctioning it as a title fight, as I don't believe Feliciano is ranked William Joppy was supposed to be on the card, but ducked a fight against my homeboy (Jameson Bostic) and was given the hook.
that's the fucking problem. this fight would be a great co-main event on a ppv, but by itself its BAD material at best.
Plus you have two mismatches in Collazo-Mitchell and Cintron-Feliciano. Not sure what this card is going to look like. cupey
It should be on network tv..fox,abc,etc....Saturday Night Fights....presents...Vargas vs. Mayorga....also Kermit Cintron..:bears:
