Yeah, I thought Mosley would win.

One reason, and to be honest perhaps the only reason, that gave some people pause was their amateur experience.

It was hardly enough to convince most people Forrest could beat Shane, but that Mosley might not have an easy time of it.

In fact, as you sort of elude to, the people mostly backing Forrest - the few who were - probably did moreso because of not being a Mosley fan or being of the group that grew critical of him for his competition after the DLH fight.

I swear you didn't pick barrera. Only me, mexican radio, and maybe another brit were the only people that picked barrera to beat hamed. I had been saying for years, Morales or Barrera would school hamed. I am sure you were one of the hamed supporters I was arguing with.

For the record, Sly also picked Oscar over Mosley in the rematch as well because he thought Oscar was the better fighter.

    Incorrect.

I picked Barrera without the shadow of a doubt.

I was also the only man to predict that Floyd would stop Corrales.

    Yes, I'm THAT good.

I do remember you picking Oscar in the rematch with shane, but somehow I remember you picking Hamed.

I picked Chico to stop Floyd.

I have to say, even though I was in the clear minority picking Barrera and Hopkins, I don't even give myself much credit for those picks. Despite them being 3 or 4 to 1 underdogs, they were fucking obvious picks to me. Especially Hopkins, I just knew it. He was bigger, tougher, craftier, and clever. I knew if tito couldn't effectively end the fight with 1 shot, he was getting battered.

I think people who picked pacman to beat barrera deserve more credit, I picked MAB to stop Pacman. That was not an obvious result at all. Pacman made a believer of me in that fight, he is an absolute beast.

Sly, you also said Corrales had a steel chin. :dunno: I dunno, but I wouldn't call Diego's chin steel (May he rest in peace).

Isn't amazing how tough Mosley's chin actually is? When you watch the Forrest fights it seems every right hand that Vernon threw was buckling or stunning Shane. Yet Shane's taken monster shots from others and never blinked.

You are dead on about the fear factor..

Now he is very capable of this (as he showed against Echols after his right shoulder was damaged) however his instincts are to make a dirty a rough fight out of things. So that is what I see him doing.
Now I do not see Hopkins stopping Tito. I think that Tito has a pretty dependable chin, and Hopkins isn't known as a devastating puncher. Also Tito's power would keep Hopkins honest. Therefore if it is a rough and tough and dirty fight...it will be close, go the distance most likely....Trinidad would certainly be awarded the decision. The judges would favour Trinidad's clean, accurate and hard punches over Hopkins rough and sometimes drty tactics.

You may be right Sly. But also it depends on how many shots Bernard Hopkins will take on the chin. If he comes to rumble like he did against Keith Holmes he will be eating short hooks and uppercuts all night. However, if he does come to box n move, then I do see a decision. I dont know. We all know Hopkins tends to stand in front of his opponents. That may prove fatal against a gifted puncher like Felix Trinidad. I anticipate a late stoppage, probably on cuts. Either way, I dont see Hopkins winning. Trinidad just has too many advantages. He has the punching power, the handspeed, quality of competition, and overall skills. Hopkins advantages probably are in his height, reach, physical strength, chin, and footwork. The heart and stamina are even. We'll just have to see this fight.

Hopkins aint stopping Tito my friend. If he attempts to stop Tito with his just-above-average-power he may end up getting stopped in return. Hopkins will just fight a smart and busy fight.
Tito has too much determination and recooperative ability to be stopped by Bernard. Also his power and devastating inside combination punching will prevent Hopkins from getting too brave.

I really cannot see either fighter running out of gas in this fight and that is why I predict a decision victory for Tito (assuming that there is no disqualifications of course). If there is anything great about Hopkins...it is his stamina. The dude seems to have an endless supply of wind.
If Hopkins is KOed it would be on account of Tito's devastating power punches and not to do with him running out of gas.
This is Tito's fight to win though. Only Trinidad...can beat Trinidad in this fight (if he hasn't taken care of business in training)

Absolutely, and I guess we were wrong about Williams, despite his fragile appearence, and small, thin head and chin

Marge is not a monster puncher, but a decent one, and Williams took some heavy shots without ever being seriously hurt.

Dude, you're begging for me to start chatting smack about your wife again. I have SAID ON THIS THREAD that I picked Tito. When did I ever try to deny it? Why the fuck are you quoting S/O threads on this forum? What are you trying to prove. My whole point was that I picked Vernon over Shane not Tito over Hopkins.
What's with you posting S/O threads, people's PMs, information that Phonetap told you regarding his personal life, people's IP addresses (when you were admin at S/O).

    What's wrong with you?
