Why no talk about this matchup?? The first fight was a sight to behold,...two of the better punchers in the sport, and Vaz had Rafael down in the third. Rafael Marquez might be the most dangerous puncher in the sport, and definitely top 3 P4P overall. Fuck watching Hopkins, Mosely Wlad, Jones, etc. when you have one of the most exciting fighters in the sport of the past decade. Rafael by TKO 7.
Nice to see someone who cares. Instead of these 5 year old retards who keep spamming the board. I think Raf is simply too good and will win a decision. Vazquez will have his moments but it wont be enough. I cant wait for this one.
raf marquez is not one of the more exciting fighters of the last decade, plenty of his fights have been mediocre/subpar. Vasquez is a more exciting fighter of the two. But this is a great match up, and I see Marquez winning again.
I can't wait for this fight but I think Marquez is better and on paper should win but Vasquez has a punchers chance he's hurt Marquez before and I thought Marquez was fading down the stretch,so anything can happen.
I think it will be another torrid affair with both stung, but I see Vazquez throwing up his hands in surrender after the 6th or 7th round.
Actually this fight was being discussed earlier this week. People were making their picks. If Marquez remains sharp with his punches, I don't think Vasquez will last, be it another injury or cuts or straight KO. I just hope that future opponents for the loser of this fight don't think that they will be easy pickings...both men seem like they have lots left in the tank IMO.
Yeah, that was thought of some at the time, that Vasquez was coming on a bit and Marquez was fading. Still, I'm not sure. Marquez trains at very altitude, and Marquez allowed Mabuza back into the fight in the middle rounds of their fight before stopping him...and that was outdoors in the altitude of Lake Tahoe. I think Marquez is well conditioned, but he does have a tendency to let up at times in fights and his effort does not remain consistent. I actually think the first fight was one of his more complete performances, I thought he pretty much controlled the fight from the first round to the last...and the only major mistake he made was getting a little over-aggressive pressing his advantage and getting careless which led to the knockdown (not too dissimilar to what his brother did against MAB). If Marquez establishes distance as well as he did in the first fight he should be win this one again, but I wouldn't be surprised if Vasquez does even more to make the fight this time around. He knows he can't fight from the outside with Marquez, and given the criticism he recevied after the first fight, I'm sure he'll be motivated to show more heart this time around.
vazquez was beating the hell out of raffy's body. there's no telling how that might have paid off had the fight gone on.
Yeah, and Marquez landed some good body punches himself. There's a reason "there's no telling how that might have paid off had the fight gone on"...because Marquez was also landing a plethora of jabs and power punches to the head.
vazquez was landing a lot of jabs too, but marquez's face held up somehow whereas vazquez was busted up.
do the hbo commentators usually ruin the results of the showtime figthts? cause i wont be able to watch the marquez fight unitil after the hbo ppv.
DIAZ/Morales. That's probably what the bar will show. Too bad, I really wanted tos ee Vasquez/Marquez.
That already happened in their first fight, it's highly unlikely it will happen again. However, Marquez is more skilled, but like many of you said, Vasquez definitely can bang as well, and definitely has a puncher's chance. Having said that, Marquez by decision, I think this fight will be a lot more tactical than the previous bombs away affair.
Then you must not appreciate fighters like Willie Pep, Sandy Saddler, Salvador Sanchez, Wilfredo Gomes, Jeff Fenech, Azumah Nelson, Ricardo Lopez, Ruben Olivares, etc, all those guys are/were little. You are just not a true boxing fan.
I doubt it. Vasquez has to know to be agressive from the beginning. he was getting his ass kicked at distance. If Vasquez don't press, this is an easy fight for Marquez.
..... Hey, my MSN is on :dunno: I took Marquez when he opened at -195. Mayol seems like a decent bet to if he can land some good shots. Actually maybe Mayol by KO. if it gets to a decision Solis probably wins.
I'm sic of saying "hi" first :nono: I parlayed Marquez and Diaz @ $2.65. I wasn't interested neccessarily in the betting here, just what you thought was going to happen. I think Mayol v Solis steals the show on the PPV.
Not sure about that Solis will do his best to make it a stinker. Diaz should win to IMO. I like his bodypunching.
Because Karl is a chickenshit faggot that's calling Vazquez a quitter, even though vazquez has 100 more guts than karl and would knock him out cold with 1 punch.
