Which was the better fight? Right now i'm going with Vazquez Marquez because i'm still completely amped up... that wasn't boxing that was annihilating human body resources. I literally felt bad for either one, i never seen fighters take out so much out of the other on a competitive level in only 6 rounds. As much as i want to see the trilogy made here, i hope they get paid a shitload of money because, this might pretty much ruin both of them or at least take out a whole lot off their tanks. Thanks to both warriors again! :bears: :bears:
I don't know..both were GREAT. Vasquez vs. Marquez was more skilled....but still..i DON"T KNOW..!!
I am still amped up too. It is hard to pick anything over Coralles/Castillo1,...but if there was a fight I ever saw that could top it, I would have to think that tonights war would be the frontrunner.:bears:
Not even close. Castillo vs. Corrales was way better. Gatti/Ward I was better, Barrera vs. Marales 1 & 3 were better.
Castillo vs. Corrales and the first Morales vs. Barrera are equal to this fight tonight.... Gatti vs. Ward was good...but the skill level is not even in the same milkyway...
The way that the first Morales/Barerra fight was fought,....the skill level in THAT fight wasn't in the same milkyway as tonights masterpiece.
You guys are too hyped for this fight. Once you have calmed down and watched the fight again, you will see.
Godfather were you dozing off during this fight? It was fucking good. Not better than Corrales - Castillo and Morales - Barrera 1 I agree, but yes it was better than Gatti - Ward and a lot better than Morales - Barrera 3.
It wasnt better than no Gatti vs. Ward. I wasnt dozing off. When that fight ended, i wasnt sitting there going jumping up and down, yelling this was one of the best fights i have ever seen. Yet was a great fight, but it wasnt on the level of the others.
I think Vazquez-Marquez is potentially the fight of the year and perhaps it would have the drama of the Castillo-Corrales fight if the ref allowed it to go on. Marquez was badly hurt by that last short right hand. Both were high level WARS. Tonight's fight had both fighters hurt in the fight whereas, Castillo and Corrales were soaking a lot more of the punishment.
I was :dunno: - i say it's on that level since they hurt each other even more in 6 rounds. Even more than Castillo Corrales in 10 rounds but the final round of this might give it the edge...
Marquez-Vasquez II was a Damn GOOD Fight, but it PALES N Comparison to Corrales-Castillo I... Marquez NEVER Really Seemed "IN" the Fight to REED...The Entire Time,Vasquez was Dictating & Controlling the Exchanges... Corrales-Castillo I had COUNTLESS Momentum Shifts,10 Rounds of PURE INFIGHTING,2 Knockdowns & the Most MIRACULOUS Ending REED has Ever Seen... It's Gonna B Another 10,15,20 Years Before we See Another Fight on the Level of Corrales-Castillo I.... REED
I agree, it's not even close. It was a great fight, but it was no Corrales Castillo 1, or Morales Barrera 1. And yep Vazquez was dictating the fight and consistently hurting marquez, where as in the first fight Marquez looked in control.
By the Way,Round 3 from Last Night was a GREAT Round...REED Isn't Aware of All the "Round of the Year" Candidates, but Round 3 of Marquez-Vasquez II HAS to B N the Mix.... REED:bears:
reed said it best. it was a great fight but not on the same level as corrales-castillo 1 and there is no shame in that whatsoever
Great fight. It had the potential of being another Castillo/Corrales. But the referees stoppage pretty much put a damper on that. I'm not saying the ref shouldn't have stopped the fight either, it's just the nature of the beast in saying you need a pretty lenient referee in order to get the type of outcomes we got in Castillo/Corrales, Gatti / Ward, etc. Anybody with a quick trigger finger would have stopped both those fights earlier, making them nowhere near as memorable as they turned out to be. If Frank Cappuchino had reffed this fight we would have had an all-time great fight and conclusive outcome I feel. Problem is, one of these guys might have also ended up dead.
I dunno about momentum shifts i think that fight was close enough that at least i had no idea who will win. Sure Vazquez could hurt Marquez but he did that in the first fight, too - and Marquez AGAIN came back with vicious blows of his own. They might not have the immidiate hurtful effect since Vazquez has the btter chin, but looking at his face and even just looking at the punches you could see there was no way that Vazquez takes these for 12 rounds. He would have been stopped again IMO he just was able to put more together this time and hurt Marquez all the time. He simply fought a better fight than last time. I think whats missing in this fight compared to Corrales-Castillo is the final round that had drama that can't be repeated. But the first 6 rounds where imo as good if not better than the first 6 rounds of Corrales-Castillo. More power p4p lesser Chins p4p more hurting just more intense to me. You had to be aware that every punch could be the last or the beginning of the end whereas in the first rounds of that phonebooth war between Corrales-Castillo both seemed to be fine with the punches. I'm not saying there were throwing pitty pat they also had mean intentions in every punch but not potential killers like almost everyone of last night. Best 6 rounder ever! :bears: :bears:
