Jorge Barrios Out of Sept. 15 Fight with JMM

Not "pulls" out, but he's out.

BARRIOS OUT AGAINST JUAN MANUEL MARQUEZ!
    By G. Leon

Will Chris John fill the void?

Boxingtalk has been informed that former junior lightweight champion Jorge Barrios has been forced to withdraw from his September 15 bout with Juan Manuel Marquez for medical reasons that will prevent him from passing his physical. The Golden Boy Promotions brass was unavailable for immediate comment, perhaps because they are currently working on a potential rematch with Marquez conqueror Chris John. There will be more to follow, until then Remember where you heard it first! (1:03 AM EST)

Is Guzman/Soto signed already? If it isn't it would be cool if they can make JMM vs any of them too.

I read that they are trying to make a Chris John rematch right now. Let that puto come to the US and get schooled again. He won't be protected by the judges and that ref from Indonesia.:nono:

hbo already gave away that prime ppv date for that garbage fight. they should scrap it altogether.

Probably on the Rosendo Alvarez diet. Might be a wise move that he didn't try and pass a physical.

Why? Pacquiao beat Fagquez too. :dunno:

Legacy hurting would be like Forrest and Gomez beating the crap out of Floyd's best opposition in two different divisions.

i would order this ppv if the chris john rematch comes to fruition. their first fight was tactical yet interesting.

i doubt they will scrap this PPV because the under-card is pretty damn good if i remember correctly.

john already has a fight lined up later this month. he would have to vacate his title and scrap his proposed bout in order to make this happen. i wonder if he and his management would have the balls to move up and come to america for this fight.

simple answer to the question: $ if it's there, john will be here. if not, he won't.

    joony "Twinkle Toes" McJack

well asian fighters have shown that $ doesn't always matter if they already have the title.

what are john's chances of winning considering he's never fought outside of indonesia and this will be his first bout in america under the big lights?

wouldnt you assume that he would at least want a tune-up in the states?

Maybe, if he wants to be the next Juan Lazcano.

    i dont recall JMM having a tune-up.

lazcano passed up a million dollar (or something close to it) payday. i doubt john would get anything more than 200k to fight marquez in vegas.

Not sure if it was the only time (I don't feel like looking at boxrec), but I know John fought Sato in japan before.

From one shitty main event to another. What's worse, this bout kills the co-feature, Guerrero-Juarez, which IMO was the card's lone selling point. Ouma-Mora is somewhat relevant, but has stinker written all over it, and Bojado-Forbes is more loser-leaves-town than anything else.

    Marquez-Juarez confirmed!
It's official. Rocky Juarez will have a shot at WBC super featherweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez instead of IBF featherweight champion Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero on September 15 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on a Golden Boy Promotions pay-per-view card. Marquez' original foe Jorge Barrios was forced to withdraw after being diagnosed with multiple retinal tears, requiring immediate surgery during a routine pre-fight eye examination on Friday in Los Angeles. Guerrero is scheduled to remain on the show against an opponent to be determined. Also on tap is a middleweight showdown between former champion Kassim Ouma and "The Contender" season one winner Sergio "The Latin Snake" Mora and a super lightweight battle between Francisco "Panchito" Bojado and ‘The Contender’ season two runner-up Steve Forbes.
