REED GENUINELY Believes that Roy Meant NO Harm N doing that & that it TRUELY Helped him on Fightnight to NOT "Sell" Fights as Much as he Could Have...But as a Wannabe Media Cat Himself,REED has seen the "Other" Side of Some Fighters that can EASILY "Turn U Off" to Them,Individually...

@ his OWN RETIREMENT Benefit Card,Paulie Ayala DIDN'T Wanna B bothered by ANYBODY...He had Armed Police Security Around him DURING the Fight Card AND @ the Post Fight party...Virtually NOBODY Got Access to him,Media OR FANS...He nEVER Signed even 1 Autograph or Gave an Interview that REED Actually Witnessed...

There was nothing classless about Johnson and his team celebrating a big win that he waited for his whole career. Get real. :doh: If Johnson has to talk shit to get someone decent to fight him then so be it.

 

Oh and if Roy is foolish enough to fight Johnson again he will be laid out on the canvas again. I don't know what some of you were watching against hanshaw. Jones still has some handspeed but his legs aren't to good. He spends way to much time on the ropes.

 

The thing is though , if Roy still wants to fight at a world class level , he can't really move forward without fighting Johnson as long as Johnson is not yet retired.

Agreed. He said himself "I still don't consider myself the best, but i'll fight the best". How many guys would say something like that? Most fighters after a win over a tune-up proclaim themselves the best in the world and start calling out everyone.

I'm a Roy Jones fan, but i'll believe what i hear out of Glen's mouth when it comes to potential fights before I will believe Roy's.

When it comes to "anytime, anywhere, any place" lines that guys like to say, Johnson has actually done it.

 

i'd rather see tarver get whupped by johnson. jones doesnt deserve another KO loss.

One of my favorite Glen Johnson lines came after he beat Tarver the first time. I believe it was on a Max video interview.

"He said he softened up Eric Harding for me... I thank him. He said he softened up Roy Jones for me... I thank him. I guess he softened himself up for me, so I thank him for that too." ::

 

No doubt Roy's relationship with the media is turbulant to say the least. He doesn't trust many of them out there (except Greg Leon & few others), and it shows. My point is the media portrays Roy's character in a negative light, when by all accounts all those who personally know him say otherwise, and that to me is what counts the most.


I'm sure Glen Johnson is a decent guy, but so is Roy.....I'd just like to get away from the "all-from-the-heart" schitck that team Johnson has milked.....Glen needs money like anybody else and his comments about Roy are well 'contrived'....thing is RJ never seemed to verbally attack potential or official opponents....so the question begs who's keeping it real?
