The fight is as good as done. Jones flew up to NY in 2 hours after he heard Tito signed. Don't forget, he didn't sign to fight Ruiz either until about a couple weeks before. Roy's cumming in his boxers thinking about this fight.

Roy will take the short end of the purse because he knows he has no choice. He was willing to take a 40-60 split to fight Calzaghe. I think, at this point, he realizes that he's not going to get the big money without coming off his high horse.

 

Cupey, you know as well as the rest of us that Trinidad has only the slightest punchers' chance in this one. Roy woul dhave slipped VERY BADLY indeed for Tito to come even close to winning.

I'm a Tito fan too (more of a Roy fan though)...but I have to be realistic about the man's chances.

I've been a lifelong fan of both fighters but I have also lost a tremendous amount of respect for both in recent years:

Trinidad for proving that he's a boxing idiot with ZERO ability to adapt midfight (against Winky) and Jones for quitting like a bitch in the third Tarver fight.

I haven't forgiven either for their crimes. As such I kinda don't mind who wins as long as someone is knocked the fuck out!!

It'll likely be Tito on his ass though...

 

maybe tito on the heels of his pathetic display against Winky will be out to prove himself and will go after RJJ the way he should've Wright. if that happens, he could very well win the fight. especially if his father wraps his hands right. wink. wink.

 

Tito is going to put that bum to sleep. It's that simple. He goes into a ball against the ropes. Tito will unload on him. Once Tito gets his lazer jab working and the powerful left hook, Roy will run and quit on his stool. You know it. I know it's hard to admit for Roy fans, but this is what will happen. Roy has no chin, and very little heart. Tito will land that powerful left hook that will crack his chin and i'm going to scream TIMBER!!!!!!!!!!

 

Please. Trinidad's balance and footwork has always been awful.

As faded as Jones is, it'll take him 6 rounds to KO Tito whereas in their primes Roy would have needed 3 rounds. If Tito bitched up and stop trying against Wink, he'll do the same against Jones.

Papa Trinidad should train right along side his son. He's not as young as he used to be so he'll need to brush up on his "jumping into the ring to save his son" technique.

The buzz around this fight (it's only been one day) is incredible......messageboards are lighting up.

I think this fight will do at least 750,000 buys....if HBO picks up and does the 24/7 package, it may hit 1 million+.


I can't wait.....like I said before I do worry about Roy having to make 170....King/team Trinidad are smart and this may be the x-factor for Tito. Jones (age 39) is being asked to shrink himself down to near supermiddle, a place he hasn't been in over a decade.
