Tito hasn't scored a one-punch KO in about a decade.

He hasn't dramatically changed the course of the fight with one punch since he was a junior middleweight, which is 16 pounds below where this fight is supposed to take place.

Tito has a shot given the fact that Roy may be half-dead from making 170. If not, then Tito is in for a very rough night of eating straight right hands until he falls or the final bell rings after losing every round.

 

RJ has been Ko'd by fighters that are not in the class of Trinidad. :nono:

Tito's power at 170 will be far from what it was at 147/154, at 160 it was already clearly not as much of a factor as it was at 147/154. Tito doesn't even have a puncher's chance IMO. Roy took harder shots from bigger guys, don't count on a KO by Tito. Prepare yourself for a total domination and probably a mercy stoppage during the middle rounds (4-8). And keep in mind that comes from a Tito fan. Tito is delusional, Roy wants easy money (who doesn't?) and to redeem himself (even though this joke of a fight will only redeem him in the eyes of simpletons that didn't understand the true nature of this fight), and finally, Don King is shameless. The only people excited for this fight are either : Delusional Tito fans or Roy fans that will finally get revenge for all these years of trash talking between the two factions.

Trinidad was KO'd by a guy Roy handled with one hand.

I cant remember the last time Milkdud and Johnson scored a 1 punch ko either but they did when they fought RJ. Tito is a better fighter then both of them and has shown the ability to bring his power with him thus far!

Tarver showed even before Roy that he could dramatically change the effect of a fight with one punch...at 175 lbs. Tito showed that at 154 lbs and below.

Johnson was all over Roy like Kobe on a cheerleader and continued to press him. Tito is more methodical, and the last time (or last few times) guys continued to catch him with straight right hands, Tito just continued to come straight in and eat more right hands.

What's going to happen this time now that he'll be eating right hands from a bigger guy who can crack at light heavyweight?

 

Jones is not superman but he's bigger, faster, more powerfull and last but not least, he's not retired. He might be chinny enough to get hurt by a good punch from Tito but Tito hasn't shown the ability to land these kind of punches against guys that have elite level defense, Roy is one of them even though he has an unorthodox defense.

In 4 words : Tito has no chance.

 

Jones isn't superman and Tito has no chance.

Or in the 4th, after Joppy had won the 3rd, when Tito hit him with 2 or 3 straight right hands, and then a left hook and dropped Joppy?

As for Cherifi...it wasn't one shot that changed the course of the fight. Tito was beating him throughout the fight.

 

it's funny, but the physical advantages of Jones won't look that way in the ring. They are very similar in size. Speed goes to Jones, but without good legs I don't think he's going to get away from Tito if he gets pressured. I think both guys will put on a good show until Roy gets KTFO

Yeah, Tito was beating Cherifi throughout the fight, which went 4.

He didn't dramatically change the fight with one punch, like he did versus Reid, or Tarver against Harding in the rematch.

Tito can punch even at 160, but not quite as powerful as in the lower weight classes, and this is a 10 pound jump.

Look, I'll be rooting for Tito, but the fact is, he is a big longshot. Roy, past it as he may be, is at least semi-active, and beating top 15-20 light heavyweights. Tito, on the other hand, hasn't won a fight since October 2004, and is a smaller guy anyway. He eats straight right hands like he does beans. Roy still has a blazing fast straight right hand, and hits harder than the welterweights, jr. middles, and middleweights that Tito is used to getting hit by.

I never said, nor do I believe, that RJJ EVER "chickened out" of fighting Trinidad. That's so laughable it's ridiculous.

My point, however, stands. You said Trinidad retired when he "had no choice but to fight RJJ."

That is wrong, and I explained why...including the fact that Team Trinidad for YEARS had said their plan was to go to 168 lbs. and end up fighting RJJ.

He retired because he lost at 160 to the best fighter there; an all-timer. But there were certainly avenues for Trinidad to take if he still had hunger and wanted to continue fighting.

I didn't respond to the earlier statement about "RJJ chickening out of fighting Trinidad" because it was so obviously ridiculous and meant to goad that it wasn't worth a response. I just laughed.
