    I disagree.

So on general principle, to prove that I am a fan, I have to extol all of Mosley's virtues and then pick him to win?

    No.

    Now, for this fight specifically...

I hate this fight in that two guys I like are going at it.

But the majority of folks are picking Mosley, and many are doing it EASILY.

THAT is what I was responding to - hence why my post focuses more on what Cotto can do right/well and where Mosley's liabilities are that Miguel can capitalize on.

My early pick is Cotto, but it's not one I feel stone-cold-solid about - and obviously, Mosley's great right hand, ability to find angles when delivering his left hook, and his speed will all be major assets for him vs. Cotto...

But people are already stating those.

I picked Mosley over DLH, I picked him over Forrest both times (though I was one of the very few stating he would have major difficulties with Forrest's style and physical make-up)...and I've always stated and posted that I like him.

You can't and shouldn't take the same route with me you do with Sly.

    Peace.

    phonetap is scared.

in your (albiet rare case) case, extolling the virtues of mosley is not a prerequisite for being a fan. "however" FANS don't expend that amount of time diagnosing why their guy will lose...gosh, if you don't know this then you don't know what a fan truly is. there isn't a puerto rican fan of cotto (on this planet earth) who'd spend that amount of time detailing why cotto will lose and you know it.

c'mon donny, old buddy, you know you have to bring your 'A' game with phonetap.

    Mosley is GOD.

 Come on, Tapper bro, my post above is crystal-clear. Two fighters I like are fighting; one will win; most everyone is picking the other and easily; hence my "corrective" post.

I still feel it's a good even fight and that both cats have a good chance to win.

I can certainly extol the virtues of Mr. Mosley and why his chances to win are still very good. I can do a whole post on that to make you feel secure in your Mosleylinity. :tease:

But then it will be called "Donnybrooking". You see, you are one of the few who can appreciate that a detailed analysis of both fighters can still end with a solid pick in favor of one of them that I stand behind....

But you're rarely around and won't be there to defend my posts, and then I will continue with my undeserved rep, and that would make me very sad....you'd leave me all alone. :dunno: <sniff>

Thank you, however for the acknowledgement of the rarity of my case. :bears: Really, I appreciate that. Takes an old vet to know one. :cheer:

I am a fan of Tszyu, Tua (at the time), Barrera, Morales, Freitas, Penalosa....and rightly or wrongly, have gone into detail at one point or another as to why I thought they would lose.

    Peace.

Mosley wins a close but clear UD (115-113 across the board).

In his prime, Mosley wipes the canvas with Cotto like he did to Jesse James Leija.

Actually, in his prime I'm pretty sure Mosley would've easily wiped the floor with Cotto. At 147lbs? Mosley was too much speed and power for a coming forward Cotto who would have had his pressure met with fast powerful combos, superior defense, and outstanding foot/speed/movement.

forget it, sly doesn't think shane can beat any "B" or higher level fighter...prime or past prime version of mosley doesn't matter. the man is the quintessential mosley hater, king of kings, lord of lords, the living embodyment of hate when it concerns mosley. in some instances it comes across as homoerotic...

and red nikes with the puerto rican flag on the heels (I actually have a pair  )

I'm really not rooting for either fighter, not a fan not a hater of either one. Yet oddly enough I'm looking forward to this fight more so than any other scheduled for the rest of the year, with the exception of Calzaghe-Kessler, which is the week before.

I am looking forward to this fight a lot.

I think this is going to be the most exciting fight of the lot. After this I am looking forward to Hatton - Floyd, Pavlik - Taylor, and Calzaghe - Kessler.

I am also a fan of both guys. I have been a fan of MOsley for years, and a fan of cotto since pretty early in his career too.

Shane is not shot, but Cotto is for real, and despite his lack of height, he is remarkably solid at 147.

Cotto by decision. Determination, timing, accuracy, body punching and hunger.

I think Mosley takes Cotto to be honest. I'm quite confident. What are the odds on this fight? I can see Cotto stopped or reverting to running ala noud.
