    Hopkins fined $200,000!
The Nevada State Athletic Commission has levied a whopping $200,000 fine against Bernard Hopkins for pushing Winky Wright in the face during their weigh-in the day before their July 21 clash at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. No one was injured in scuffle, which took place while the fighters faced off, but the Nevada commission wants to send a message of no tolerance for prefight fisticuffs and hammered "The Executioner" for 6% of his $3 million purse. After the fight Hopkins implied that the incident was a preplanned tactic to create more interest in the fight.

Hopkins and Wright both should be fined their entire purses to pay back all the customers who bought that sh*t fight.

bullshit hop was doing it to promote this boringass fight...the only way i would tolerate him being fined is if he injured wright in some way..he didnt he just sparked some interest and helped the sales probablly so why fine him? bullshit

Absurd. Far worse things have happened at press conferences with no fines.

Boxing isn't pro wrestling. The presumption is that it's real so he gets in trouble.

Is a fine fair? Sure. Is $200,000 too much for what he did? Sure.

I wouldn't worry too much, Jermaine's ugly, nasty son, has got plenty more where that came from so calm down Fraud-groupies, Hopkin's abundance of salivating MONEY$$$$,..is still very much intact.

You know, it should serve Hopkins right. What business did he have assaulting Winky Wright for no reason at all? Promoting or not. That type of act makes boxing look like a classless blood sport filled with thugs.

even wright said he shouldnt be fined, and wasnt upset, 200,000 is too much, 50 grand would be enough to tell people next time it wont fly

200,000 is chump change for Hopkins. Though being the stingy bastard that he is, I'm sure he feels like its 10 million.

$200,000 isn't something you just throw around even if you are rich. Would you be pretty pissed off if you got a $200 fine, even if it's chump change to you?

This is a bad precedent for the NSAC to set.

Boxing has come to rely on the press conference scuffle as a necessary way to get publicity and sell tickets/pay per view.
