Two taller than shit guys. Breland can punch. Williams not as much (although I think he hits harder than he's given credit for when he wants to).

Williams by decision, possibly even knockout if he fights with passion rather than going for activity.

Williams by TKO. Not cause Paul is a big puncher, but Breland was just THAT fragile! He makes Terry Norris look like Hagler by comparison. Some of the hooks, and straight lefts which Williams hit Margaita with would stretch Breland.

Breland could really hit, he was a beautiful puncher, but he was the very definition of fragile and Paul is a strong, wiry sort... I honestly think that the Martinez KO is something of an abberation and I dont think Breland would be able to duplicate it with his particular style of punching (he wasnt a looper the way Martinez is) ... I could see Breland stinging him bad early on, but I think Tall Paul can weather it and outmuscle him, wear him down and stop him later on in the fight

Was going to say, could've sworn I remember this matchup and sure enough, yet another three-year old thread bumped.

I still stand by my original prediction. Not sure what will comes of Williams after last year's disaster, but I still say the WW version takes Breland.

Agreed. Breland was extra fragile, and wouldnt have been able to take Margarito's late punishment.

No, I meant what I said. Breland wouldnt be able to take the late Margarito punishment that P-Will took.

True...and Hearns wouldn't have been able to take some of the late punishment from Hagler, that Duran took in the Hagler-Duran fight.

    But Hearns FUCKED UP Duran.

    The question is:

Can Williams take Breland's punches? The Margarito fight is irrelevant.

Duran was clearly past his prime against Hearns and didn't look to be in the best of shape. And I don't think its the best comparison to this match up anyway.

As far as this match up goes, I think Williams can and would take Breland's punches but he would get shaken a few times.

My guess is that he would grind down Breland in the mid to late rounds with his volume punching and stamina.

    Williams TKO 10
