BOSTON (August 21, 2007) – For now, at least, Irish heavyweight champion Kevin “The Clones Colossus†McBride is best known as the fighter who knocked “Iron†Mike Tyson into retirement. McBride, however, can change his legacy if he defeats Andrew Golota on October 6, and then eventually attains his nearly lifelong dream of becoming the first Irish-born heavyweight champion of the world. <!-- m -->http://www.fightbeat.com/news_details.php?NW=20056 <!-- m -->
McBride can't punch for shit so Golota is safe here. Only reason he KO'd Tyson was because Mike gave up like a big pussy.
Tyson asked Joe Cortez to help him up as Tyson sat there on the mat. It was obvious he was completely done in.
an ill-advised fight against Mike Mollo? :: They say it like he agreed to fight Sam Peter while awaiting a shot at Wlad.
Check this out: http://www.secondsout.com/romangreenberg/factfile.cfm?ccs=459&cs=15258 Victorious in 17 of 17 professional fights Roman is heralded as the best heavyweight to hit Britain since Lennox Lewis. [..] Experts around the globe including sports media, trainers, managers and promoters have eagerly watched Romans career proclaiming him the fastest heavyweight since Ali. Even Ali's trainer Angelo Dundee predicted Greenberg as a world champion. The IBO named him 'Prospect of the Year for 2005' and his promoter reckons Roman to be the first billion dollar boxer. [..] Blessed with un-natural speed and grace in the ring, Roman is far removed from the usual robotic heavyweight style, taking on his opponents with smooth skills, fast moves and knockout power. :bears: :bears:
Perhaps he was - but he fought a tune-up earlier in the year (I think on the Sergei-Brewster card) and then fought six months later. He claimed he had fights with Ruiz and Brewster in the bank, but I'm not sure what happened. Whatever the case, he was getting KTFO in those fights as well.
Roman Greenburg from Israel. He´s about as talented as Brian Nielsen or Kali Meehan. Took him nine rounds to get rid of Damon Reed last weekend. He was losing to Alex Varakin before he finally caught him with his straight left in the 6th round, which is pretty impressive considering Varakin has been stopped in two or less rounds at least 10 times. Steve Pannell busted his nose pretty good as well.
The owner of secondsout.com is Greenberg's manager... Reportedly, his role within the site is strictly as an investor and has no creative interest whatsoever. :dunno: That's for you to decide.
Riiiiiiight... that's why dude has an entire portion of the site dedicated to him, because he's that good :: What's their next claim? Complete objectivity to all matters relating to Frank Warren and his fighters?
