i'm not going here again. suffice it to say a win over Ruiz is hardly historical.

Neither are wins over Brehal, Sturm, Mayorga or Chavez.

that win was more historical than any win castillo or de la hoya holds in his career.

    How great was Roy?

If you guys remember the HBO narrative from the Woods fight, critics were at the same time trying to push Roy in a million directions:

-move down (8lbs) to supermiddleweight and fight Hopkins
-move up (15 lbs) to cruiserweight to fight Jirov
-move further up (25 lbs) to heavyweight to fight Ruiz

Then it was expected for him to move even further up to fight 250 lb Lennox.

I think that in itself speaks for itself.......

How do you know that Vitaly was a better fighter?
    Based on what?
Ruiz clearly has a superior resume to Vitaly, and that's a fact.
Who's better fighter? Well, we've all got our own opinions here, but based on accomplishments, Ruiz is clearly a better fighter.

Ruiz is a bum. Vitali is in a different league to this bum. Nobody will say otherwise unless they completely despise 'Shitali Quitschko'.

How is he in a different league? Has he ever beaten, say, a fighter of Rahman's caliber?
The best fighters Vitaly has beaten are either:
Kirk Johnson or old Corey Sanders.
Ruiz beat Kirk, when they met, and a victory over old Holyfield is a much better achievement that a victory over old Sanders.
And, of course, victory over Rahman would've been THE BEST achievement of Vitaly's career.Alas, Vitaly not only never defeated Rahman, he never even stepped in the same ring with the guy.
Unlike, say, Ruiz, who's not only stepped in the same ring with Rahman, but actually beat him.
And, of course, the fact remains that Ruiz was knocked out only once in his career, by one of the hardest punchers of all-time, while Vitaly was beaten into submission by a blown-up middleweight.

ever notice Dympipel spends 100% of his time arguing that bums are better than top fighters?

Baldomir is better than Margarito. and Ruiz is better than Vitali.

such is the life of a RJJ/PBF apologist i guess. it's a shame really that he must go to such lengths, instead of just getting behind a fighter who's actually willing to take on the best. then he wouldn't have to construct all these nuanced and tedious arguments to try to spin it like his hero hasn't cherry-picked his way across HBO's ass-crack.

I guess the thinking is, if he works hard enough at it, and is tenacious and unrelenting in his willingness to suspend all reason, that all of the sudden people will actually believe that RJJ and PBF didn't duck all those fighters? :dunno:

Corrie Sanders isn't a bad fighter. That dude is one of the most ferocious and dangerous 2 round heavyweights ever when he's in shape and focused.

Has any of these guys were champion of the world once, like Rahman was?
Has any of these guys were champion of the world twice, like Rahman was?
Has any of these guys knocked out reigning, undisputed heavyweight champion of the world with a single punch, like Rahman did?

I'd make Tito a 3-1 favorite to brutalize Lennox inside of 8 rounds

Right. And Rahman stopped him in 7 rounds. Which makes him CLEARLY better than Sanders. And Sanders is the best name on Vitaly's resume.
    You do the math.

Right. So how about Rahman getting KTFO by Maskaev TWICE? You know Maskaev? The guy who got smashed by Goofi Whitaker, the fat black Corey Sanders, Kirk Johnson?
So what does that mean? That Goofi, Corey and Kirk all are better than Rahman? Rahman had 2 attempts at Maskaev and was smashed both times.
    Explain the math there.:dunno:

Maskaev is a World Champion. Unlike, say, Williams. Or Kirk. Or Donald.
Maskaev knows what it's like to KTFO a world champion.
Unlike, say, Williams. Or Kirk. Or Donald.
Rahman knows what it's like to KTFO a world champion.
Unlike, say, Williams. Or Kirk. Or Donald.

    Williams
    Johnson
    Sanders
    Donald

Rahman wouldn't(didn't) beat any of the guys above as easily as Vitali did. Rahman is awful. And Ruiz barely beat him anyways.

Was Vitali ever KTFO in 10 seconds? Or beaten like a dog by a middle-weight? or lose to a guy like Nicholson?

you're crazy to try to say that Ruiz is better than Vitali.
