i care, i know who i want to win, but i wont punch a hole in the wall if it doesnt happen, im usually ok with it about 3 or 4 minutes later,
Well that makes you a better man than the rest of us, well done. All of us will be punching holes in the walls and be depressed for weeks and months after our favourite fighters lose. We could learn a thing or two from you.
You could learn a lot of things from MassaCure, staff. He's the coolest most down to earth guy on this board. He doesn't get all pissed off just because his favourite 'black' fighter bites the dust.
Anyone who claims that they were apathetic is lying. Everyone here had a preference one way or another as to the outcome.
For some reason I don't what the fuk you guys are talking about. That wasn't Roy that got KO'd. That was his twin Koy Jones. Naw I didn't sweat at all. I took that shit like a champ. Actually that shit hurt. Hell I hadn't felt that bad since I got cut by the Colts. I'll Holla 5000
You always have to cover all possible options in a poll. It's like creating dynamic bins, they must be MECE.
dsimon writes: Hatton is underestimated as a puncher in general. Yes Cotto probably is a better body puncher. Yes Floyd's strength is underestimated, but Floyd does get caught on the ropes a few more times when setting up to counter these days and Hatton is quick enough in the feet to make him pay for that. When Hatton decides to fight and not dry hump he looks a lot stronger. Against Juan he often looked horrible. But it is his time to understand that and improve on that account and his last fight IMO showed some of that improvement. Hatton's stamina is an interesting issue. or to put it another way, is it an issue? I don't know. He has shown that he can be a 12 round fighter but Floyd's greatness is such that he is always accurate and I think you have a point regarding the later rounds of the fight. Namely that as the fight wears on Floyd can pick his shots and counter Hatton much more effectively. But if Hatton hurts Floyd and sets up a war it could be interesting. Cotto is one of my favorite fighters but Mayweather, while not having the speed that Judah has, is too accurate and too good a counter puncher right now. Cotto needs to tighten up, despite having a decent Defense. I think Cotto is getting better... if he shows good defense against Mosley he may be ready, but I can't see him presently ever pressing Floyd enough to get those shots off regularly before getting countered in the middle of the ring and turned about. Cotto's decent jab will be his undoing in this regard... Mayweather would counter it effectively stopping Cotto from pressing in. What shuts guys down with Mayweather is often the timing on his counters, the punches are not hard but catch the guy off guard and make him skittish and unable to follow up. I don't see Mosley as punching from all angles. Maybe i am mistaken. Hatton punches from all angles, but Mosley overwhelms with speed and with flurries IMO. I just don't think Mosley's footwork is good enough to catch Floyd consistently. I see a replay of the Judah fight with perhaps a few more fireworks. You really think Mosley has good footwork? You probably know better than I... you and metamuse but frankly I don't see much in the footwork department with Shane.
I wouldn't say it was complete monday morning quarterbacking...there was plenty of speculation about it after the Ngoudou fight.
Let me help you make up your mind. Remember how bad Hatton looked against a quick fast boxer like Collazo. How frustrated he looked and unconfident. Now imagine a better smarter faster more defensive guy like Floyd. Imagine Hatton without the help of his referee on a short leash letting him get away with his usual penchant for hitting and holding mauling, pushing and grabbing. My thought is Hatton gets fucked up and stopped.
Donny - Hatton is not quite the head puncher Cotto is, but he is a better body puncher. He commits more, hits harder to the body, and hits the right spot. There is no doubt that Cotto would have also crushed Castillo at 140, but he wouldn't have taken him out with 1 bodyshot. Hardly anyone would have. Give Hatton some credit, he's one of the very best bodypunchers in boxing.
I think of that fight (hatton-Castillo) as a fluke. It's like BitchAss Jake said...Cotto PUNISHES you.
Hatton has a shorter range, plus while he punches harder he needs to set his feet more (at least before he leaps in to hold). Cotto can punch coming forward better, and has a much more varied arsenal.
Musze - man with all due respect, if you'd seen almost all of Hatton's pro fights as I have, you'd realize that was no fluke. He's been chopping fighters down with that left hook to the body ever since his first 5 fights, that's his money punch. There is absolutely no way, no how, that was a fluke. If it's hatton's best punch, he was looking for it against castilllo, and he picked the opening perfectly - how is it a fluke? :dunno:
