AgREED. I wasn't going to watch this fight anyway, and I love the

fact that this farce is being pulled so decent paying customers won't get

robbed expecting a good fight from 2 guys living off of their "reputations"

    as exciting fighters.

One other note: I read in the news release that Mayorga is a 3x world

champion. Man, that sure does diminish the hype of making multiple world

    championships in my eyes.

Vargas got the anemia by taking far too many aspirin than the recommended dosages. He has so many aches and pains he takes I am guessing he has been taking aspirin to dull the pains. He went to get his pre fight physical and when they took a stool sample it was jet black so they made Feroz do blood tests where it was found he had anemia and was told he could not do anything for 3 weeks.

IMO this is a blessing in disguise as I really do not think Vargas should fighting anymore. Hopefully, after seeing what he has to do just to get going maybe he will have a change of heart.

I'm reading that Nando got the anemia from having sores on his stomache? WTF? How the hell did he get that?

In any case, you gotta feel for Nando whether your a fan of not. He loves to fight, and wants to fight, but his body is just giving up on him. I wanted to see this fight, but now I rather Nando just say fuck it and retire. I wouldnt complain if he did, this fight aint worth his health.

Yeah I wanted Vargas to go out with a win,

Still, unlike many fighters, he seems to be financially set. It'll probably be tough for him to adjust to post-fight life since he likes boxing so much, but at least he's got his money and other businesses going.

Mayorga spent $40,000 for street lights and stuff in his neighborhood.

This sucks. I was looking forward to this fight.
I was thinking if Vargas won , maybe he could set up another couple of decent fights.

What is anemia to exact ?
I thought it was just an iron deficientcy or something that could be fixed with iron suppliments ?
Maybe I'm wrong , or maybe because he has this , something more serious is going on.

I hope Vargas comes out alright, God bless.

I'm thinking King won't let this date fall off the table. He'll get someone in there. Forrest would be huge, but I don't see it happening on such short notice.

nah, they already moved the co-feature (or at least one of the u/c bouts - Roman Karmazin/Luca Brasi) to the Sept. 29 card in Sacramento. If King wanted to keep the gate, he wouldn't start gutting the card.

I don't shed a single tear that this fight is being "postponed", though of course I do hope for Fernando to get healthy again very soon. I'm with Eaner, X and others who hope that Vargas takes this as a neon-lit warning sign and decides once and for all to hang 'em up.

shit I remember when Tyson-Seldon was first cancelled. I was in Florida at the time and turned on the PPV channel which displayed something like 'the tyson-seldon PPV has been postponed....'

guess i should've paid more attention to sportscenter.
