Did Nate Campell ruin Bernard Dunne in sparring?

Dunne didn't really look like the smaller man. And what was Campell thinking giving a bantam weight such a hard time with all these head shots. I'm surprised Dunne took them so well, since that spanish guy blew him out in one.

 

No excuse, that was over 3 years ago.

However, Dunne has bad hands. That's why he stopped fighting for a while and went to Ireland. He figured there are more stiffs in Europe than in America. The boy forgot about planes.

He really got spanked by Martinez, not sure Campbell has anything to do with it, he tried to trade while stunned with a powerfull fighter instead of trying to buy time.

 

dunne was ruined when he chose boxing as a career. he lacks talent.

I have to say though, it didn't really look like Nate was sparring. He was launching that right hand with everything he had, and trying to land it inside the headguard too.

 

no way Dunne could take that from a guy who's considered a puncher at superfeather/lightweight...

Nate let them fly but not with as bad intentions as in the ring. :nono:

 

Maybe not quite, but don't forget he had headgear on and bigger gloves. If Nate landed those same punches with no headgear and 8oz gloves, Bernard would have been dunne.

dunne made a show of himself and got bounced off the canvas. most of the people i've talked to are actually happy because of his arrogant manner. he has no chin and will never be a world champ.

I was talking about respect for the one guy who said that the manner in which Bernard was behaving, with his "Hunky Dory" promoters, and his bill topping down the coalshed I mean the point.....was only going to end one way. In devestating McGuigan-esque defeat.

In other words, I'm talkin bout me.

Bernard showed NOTHING.

NOTHING.

He tried to fight off the ropes when he should have been running like all hell. A muscular sort like Martinez was only going to get tired as the fight wore on. If Ben had the brains he would have thrown the first 3 rounds away and then started to work on his man. But oh no...Hunky Dory....Eireann Go Brea, the Dubs in Croker, Jimmy at ringside, he was gonna show them all.

Show them that he had no jaw and no brains, apparently.

He wouldn't even acknowledge the fact that he got knocked down. Then he tried to make out that he hadn't been floored again. Then he was wondering why it was stopped. Half arsed, gobsheen nonsense. The lot of it. I had to laugh at Mick Dowling talking bollox in the studio afterwards. Fucking arseholes the lot of them.

BOTH TIMES........he tries to make out some shit......doesn't even get his fucking hands up at the 3rd time of asking on the 2nd knockdown. Could have been stopped right there.

It isn't about being "right"....I was right about how this entire saga played out...and I'll hazard a guess from the betting odds that I was one of very very few guys who had it all sussed. Me and some Spaniards....:laughing:

Listen I don't want to argue it to death, or beyond reason, but on the FIRST one at least, he was still reasonably clear headed and acted like a total novice, arguing that he was pushed, shoved, etc.
