mosley -delahoya 2 was a dull fight. delahoya attempted to stink it out and mosley couldn't really pull the trigger. both fights were noteworthy since I made a killing.
Mosley handled him better at 147 but at 154, Floyd won clearly and ended strong. Mosley really struggled in there.
Shane, no doubt. Though technically speaking, Floyd fared better. But that was largely because he faced a more faded version of Oscar.
^^^I qualified that with my second statement. If you give both Floyd and Shane a fresher, less faded version of Oscar, I've no doubt Mosley would do better.
I'd pick Shane over Oscar at 135, 140, 147 (a weight class where he already beat DLH decisively) and at 154 (though their second fight was closer). I couldn't say the same for Mayweather. In fact, I wouldn't pick him over prime versions of both.
at 154 Floyd...but with that version of DLH, big deal it's like asking who handled Ali better at the end of his career ________ Galleria Ferrari History
Shane Put more "Hurt" on DeLa,yet Arguably LOST...Whereas Floyd Clearly WON,though UNimpressively... NEITHER Guy Should Go Around Saying,"I KICKED DeLa's ASS"... REED
:nono: Shane is just a flat out better fighter Reed, you've got your priorities muddled up sucking Fraud's dick, I've left you half Mosely's quivering knob if you want a bit, promise I didn't back-wash it.
I disagree, I rewatched it not too long ago and found it more entertaining than I originally thought. In fact if given the choice I'd rather watch the sequel over the first match any day.
Good post Reed, but what people arguing this need to realize is Shane had seriously diminished his speed through weight lifting and knew Oscar was going to be faster than him, so he made an adjustment, he threw the harder shots. Bottom line is Oscar fought a rare version of Shane that was much slower than normal, and he still lost.
I thought Mosley's was more impressive. Shane in 2000 beat a better Oscar, at a weight class where Oscar was much better at, and also a weight class where Shane didn't have much experience in.
IF shit had wings it would fly, bro! We are discussing what actually happened, not what could have. Personally, I believe that Floyd would have beaten the Oscar that fought Shane (at 154lbs) the same way.
You would say that though: there is a rumour going around that you floss everyday with a string comprised of Oscar's butt-hairs. What 7 rounds could you give Oscar in the Floyd fight?
REED has a HARD Time Classifying Shane-DeLa I as an "Ass Kicking"... Shane CLEARLY WON,MUCH More Impressively than Floyd Beat DeLa,but Still,DeLa was VERY MUCH "IN" that Fight... To REED,an "Ass Kicking" is a DOMINANT Decision Win or @ Least a KO...Shane HURT DeLa Worse N the RE than he EVER Did N their 1st Bout... Shane has a CLEAR-CUT,UNDENIABLE WIN over DeLa,but REED Isn't Sure about an "Ass Kicking"... REED
Rewatch the 12th round (of the first fight). Oscar was hurt to the body pretty bad in that one. In fact, you hear Foreman saying Oscar's hurt to the body and head.
But How about the Shot N the RE,where Shane CLOCKED DeLa & Made his Eyes ROLL N 2 the Back of his Head???... If Shane had FOLLOWED UP w/Something Immediately,he MIGHT have Registered a KO or @ Least a Knockdown... Shane Definitely FOUGHT BETTER N the 1st Fight...REED's Point is,Shane HURT DeLa WORSE N the RE.... REED
That was in the first two minutes of the first round. Oscar was never in that kind of trouble the rest of the way. he was hurt to the body later, but not as badly as he was earlier. Plus, the 11th round (of the rematch) Shane had Oscar hurt but Oscar came back nicely and caught Shane with a few good shots. In fact, he knocked Shane mouthpiece out with a damn good uppercut. Even in the 9th round (of the rematch) when Shane had Oscar hurt to the body...Oscar stopped MOsley's attack with a damn god left to the body. All I'm saying is, Mosley (in my opinion) was more in control of the first down the stretch in the first fight than the rematch. Even when Oscar caught Shane with his best lefthook (in the 9th of the first match) Shane immediately responded whereas in the rematch, those shots stopped Shane's assault. I still think Shane won the rematch, but not by sweeping the last four rounds like the judges had it. I don't think there's much doubt that Shane AT LEAST won the the last four rounds of the first match. Most would say he clearly won the last six.
