"He kept hitting me" sounds like a logical explanation for a loss not like an excuse.

    That's why I said "explanation"...

Either way, I burst out laughing when I saw that interview. LOL.

After all, "I just didn't feel right" could be considered an 'explanation' too.

Post-prison Tyson looked awesome compared to the "prime" Tyson that fought Buster Douglas.

Post-prison Ali looked awesome compared to the "prime" Ali that fought Doug Jones.

Erratic these two are America's most favourite, precious heavyweights, which makes them impuned and exonerated from every single 'felony' aslong as they both shall live, they were also both QUITTERS at one time or another,...:eeeek: GAAAAASSSPPPP!!!!...

    Those were single fights.

Ali, Dundee, and Ali's opponents who fought him pre and post-exile all said he was better in the 60s.

Boxers fighting at such a higlh level of the sport are extremely unlikely to just be away from the sport for 3-4 years and ever be the same.

Boxing requires so much timing and reflexes, and working out in a prison or going across the country giving speeches can only do so much.

We all know your bias rarely allows you to try to look at anything objectively, but try to make a decent attempt here.

Boxing requires an incredible amount of repetition, reflexes, and timing.

Two fighters, one of whom doesn't really have a style suited for longevity anyway, and the other who relies quite a bit on reflexes rather than proper boxing technique, are inactive from the sport for 3 to 4 years. One cannot train in a boxing gym for over 3 years. You're saying there's no way they're not gonna lose something from that? Please.

Why don't you look at all the fighters who fought at a world class level, then didn't fight for 3 years, and see how many of them were actually the same, as opposed to those who were never the same?

Yes, Yes, Yes, we could go into extensively minute detail about the perils of making weight and it's effects on one's performance aswell Erratic when someone spontaneously screams 'weight drained' for example... everybodies got an excuse Erratic, but America's two all-time heavyweight darlings I mean, to take the liberty to question such perpetuated folklore, a traditional steep surrounding thier aura of invincibilities, it ignites outrage to radically ''BLASPHEMOUS" proportions it seems.

:crafty: Pssst...but it's an excuse. Clear cut. Tszyu quitting - Ali quitting - Frazier quitting - Duran quitting - Chavez quitting - Tyson quitting ....they're all on the same level. Any asterisks, are EXCUSES. *Dips the hat*..

I'm not talking about being weight-drained. I'm not talking about quitting. That's a whole different story. I'm usually not too harsh on guys who quit unless it's a situation like Tyson-Seldon, Leonard-Duran 2, or Rahman-Cawley where the effort (or lack of) is truly disgraceful.

I'm talking about how 3-4 years of inactivity and how much of boxing requires timing and reflexes.

Name me all the guys who fought at the highest level of the sport, then didn't fight for 3 to 4 years, and then were just as good as they were before the layoff. And then look at the number of guys who were never the same.

If you're unwilling to admit that 3-4 years off in a sport like boxing, when you're competing at the highest level, is going to be detrimental then I guess there's no hope for you ever being somewhat objective.

I guess I shouldn't expect anything else from someone as ridiculously biased as you. I'll add this to the list of Kau classics such as:

-Hopkins was in his prime at age 40
    -Baldomir was a lightweight
    -Ndou got robbed against Cotto

When Jones got KOed by Tarver in fight II. Jones says something like this. "I can't get up for guys or fights like this". I am a Jones fan but if you can't get up for fights like that, you shouldn't of signed for the fight.

Are we talking about fans' excuses, or from the fighters themselves?

I can go on and on with some of the great excuses we've heard from fighters.

I think my favorite one of all-time is Hector Camacho after his controversial win over Edwin Rosario.

"My mother gave me a mean look in the locker room and it spooked me out the whole night and hurt my performance"

Ali was fighting the whole entire time he was banned.
His fights were not sanctioned as pro bouts.
He was alwasy in the gyms as well.

IMO Ali was a much smarter fighter after his banning.

 OIY! I never said Ndou was robbed against Cotto...:eeeek: and if I did it MUST'VE been to stirr Illuminatti,...as for Baldomir, it strictly depends, is he a headless torso?..if so, yes he's a lightweight,..with that enormous bulb he's a disproportioned mutant lightweight who has to fight at welterweight to cater for his qrotesque feature.

But back to the original rapport, we could say on the flipside, that they had 3 or 4 years of preserved prime in isolation due to the lack of gruelling punishment a body takes in a 12 or 15 round bout, you see,..Ali and Tyson apologists (Fightbeat - America wide) will throw this one in here and there wherever convenient. :nono:

Sure, Baldomir is a lightweight with a cranium 12 pounds heavier than the average man. For Christ's Sake Kau, is there anything so ridiculous you WON'T say to detract from a fighter you hate?

But they never fully gained back what they lost. In the case for them and especially Foreman, it might've helped their longevity, but other attributes they lost forever.

That is of course unless you think oh-so little things like leg speed and timing are unimportant in boxing.

:nono: It's an extraordinarily large head Erratic, phenomenal, this cannot be refuted, lots of juice, flesh and brain, combined with dense bone, 12lbs is a sufficient estimate.

and I guess we'll agree to compromise,.. although they lost a little timing, and reflexes, they had preserved anthropologies, juice, and overall strength from the refreshing breaks they underwent in dettainment. It evens out!, everybody wins!,...:cheer: they lost something but gained something,....it's as if..........:dunno: they never even faced any obstructive obstacles at all!. :cheer: :crafty:

The average human head weighs 10-12 pounds. That means Baldomir's head is 22-24 pounds.

And as you've liked to remind us, Mayweather is no longer a lightweight. Right now he belongs at either 140 or 147. Well Mayweather (who weighed 13 pounds less than Baldomir on fight night) sure doesn't seem to have a frame 2 divisions above Baldomir.

Well Fraud, according to his most passionate and arbitrary fan REED, says and I quote "Floyd has a huge head" if you take a look at the macabre example provided, you'll see that Baldomir, evidently, makes a bold attempt for that extra 12lb's Erratic, (ps- you can also see Fraud more or less TOWER over Baldomir, and unlike your carefully selected picture, these guys are facing off, the BEST and most accurate way to judge ones frame/Height.

ps:- imagine a normal sized head on Baldomir's frame i that pic?... DAYUM...it'd be a flashback to Fraud's featherweight days,..
