I agree. Witter shouldnt waste his time on Castillo. No point in losing to someone who doesnt even have a belt. I think he should fight Malignaggi too. Pauly would school that bum.

"WHICH KNOCKED HARRIS MOUTHPIECE OUT OF HIS MOUTH!"

....i'd be more impressed if it came out of somewhere else......knocked Harris' mouthpiece....out of his ear!

it was a better than expected fight, but not close to being a fight of the year candidate.....one thing that was a little sad, if not surprising, was the crowd in attendance....Hennessey did well to win the purse bid and get the fight on over here, but the venue was little more than a leisure centre...for a WBC title fight!?!....He has been very poorly promoted throighout most of his career, but his unpopularity at this point is still a little surprising.....p4p he is our 3rd best fighter behind Hatton and Calzaghe who could sell out stadiums

I eat crow. I admit I was wrong. All props to Junior Witter, and on the bright side, this enhances Zab's legacy!:bears:

it was actually a very good fight. it got a bit stinky in the 5th and more so in the 6th as Witter went into hit-and-clinch mode (or sometimes get-hit and clinch). but once the ref got in his face about early in the 7th, Witter stood his ground - and eventually took Viv out with a perfect left hook (while under attack, no less).

    No suspect officiating or anything.

For anyone who cares, I talked to Viv a couple of hours and he's in good spirits. It's a far cry from the Maussa aftermath, where he was looking for the nearest ledge. He trained hard for this fight, felt good - he just got caught. He could've done things different at some points, but boxing isn't about coulda, woulda, shoulda. It's about what happened, and what happened was he got caught with a hell of a shot, by a fighter who was aware enough to realize he could hurt his opponent no matter how many times he got hurt himself.

It's Witter's color that's holding him back. If he were a nice shade of pasty white like Hatton, he'd have a hell of alot of fans. Fans who would love him and hate Hatton and then you'd have a decent rivialry that couldn't be ignored the way it is right now. Hell, if and when Witter does fight Hatton, the Hatton fans will probably throw bananas at Witter.

Congrats Attraction. Just wanted to give you your props. This guy stood by his fighter like a true fan from day one telling everyone he was the real deal. He had to wait a long time but Witter finally silenced any criticism that he belongs among the elite in his class. Attraction had to start numerous Witter threads just to keep the guy relevant but now, we'll all be mentioning him as a possible name to fight this guy or that guy.

Just know any doubts I had about Witter were mainly because I never saw the guy fight much. Most people on here found criticism even in his wins. I imagine now we'll get to see more of him.

:bears: Fuck Yeah!,...Hatton's MASTER strikes again!,..how long can Ricky run?... feel the SQUEEZE "Hitman" feel the SQUEEZE,.... we might begin to see Hatton stutter and make incoherent outbursts like Fraud did whenever anybody mentioned Margarito,...

Attraction has taken a lot of shit on this board for a long time and maybe deservedly so but he deserves a little respect now. He stood by Witter for a LONG time and Witter's stock just shot up a lot with this win over Harris. There has to be some legitimacy now not only for Witter as a fighter but for Attraction as a poster. He's more than just a novelty act now (Attraction, Witter). Nice posted of the clips too, Witter has some sick counters. Aggressive fighters play right into his hands.

Exactly, and that's why Hatton is MADE for Witter.

That's just ridiculous. It's the fact that Hatton has been an exciting pressure fighter from the start and also hails from Manchester which has been the biggest factor in their respective popularties. That and the fact that ALL Brendan Ingle fighters tend to get a bad press, with the exception of Hamed who was much more offensively minded than is usual for an Ingle fighter.

Bruno, Benn, Hamed and Eubank were some of the most popular fighters EVER from the Uk, whereas Calzaghe for instance whose longevity and success (statistically speaking, at least) surpass all four of them has only just begun to get a fraction of their attention.

Talk about seeing things in "black and white".

lb4lb - that's one of the most ignorant things I've ever read on the board.

Brits are not Spaniards, they are generally not racist.

As someone else suggested, did you not realize the amount of blind support that Eubank, Benn, BRUNO, and even Hamed received?

They received more support than white fighters like Calzaghe.

Brits root for and support the Brit all the way if they like them, doesn't matter what colour they are.
