V. Klitschko wants Maskaev-Peter Winner Next

World Boxing Council President Jose Sulaiman says tha former heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko, who recently suffered a back injury, has told him that he wants to fight the winner of the upcoming bout between WBC champion Oleg Maskaev and mandatory Samuel Peter, scheduled for Oct. 6 in New York's Madison Square Garden.

World Boxing Council President Jose Sulaiman says tha former heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko, who recently suffered a back injury, has told him that he wants to fight the winner of the upcoming bout between WBC champion Oleg Maskaev and mandatory Samuel Peter, scheduled for Oct. 6 in New York's Madison Square Garden.

Don Jose explained that Vitali Kilischko phoned him and said that after he recovers from back surgery, he preferred to fight directly for the title at the beginning of the year.

Don Jose said that the fight against Jameel McCline fight has been cancelled, and that:

“Vitali wants to prove to himself and his people that he can become the champion of the world again and he’s totally decided to do that. But we are going to request from him a total and complete bill of health after his surgery, because we don’t want to be subject to continuous postponements, which are not good for boxing.â€￾

Vitali has struggled with injuries. His intended title fight against Hasim Rahman in 2005, had to be called off three times because of back and then a knee injury.

But Don Jose countered: “Really I believe that boxing needs him. Vitali is very attractive for the world and I hope that he will be back.â€￾

No problem. Feel free to post the entire story with a link to the source. I have no problem with that. But "read the rest here" helps them and they refuse to return the favor. I was at war with Reeno and I wouldn't even allow the world boxingscene in here. I removed that, but apparently he sees links to outside sources as spam. I don't agree if they stir up interest, but I'll play the same game he plays.

I didn't post the link for spam purposes, nor does it have anything to do with Rick. I was actually on another message board when i saw a link for Cliff's article. I followed it, scrolled down and saw the Vitali story in the "other news" section.

I came here, checked your news section, didn't see similar news... the rest is history.

But know that it had nothing to do with what you're suggesting. I don't play those games. Hell, I hardly start threads anywhere.

 

Anyway...

I just love the irony in Vitali, whose postponed bout wasn't even scheduled until NEXT weekend, is already trying to make his next move, this time from the hospital bed.

So the ratings mean nothing, but giving another site one hit on the forums is beyond reproach.

What kind of bullshit is that? Jake made a good thread, to stir up discussion, and instead you sabotage it and now we're over a page full of nonsense. THIS is why so many decent posters and contributors have left.

I'm no affiliated for either place, and if I ever would be, it would be for fightbeat.

I've never posted on any other site, and hell i only even look at our hompage (we have a homepage?)

You can't say the numbers don't matter, and then posting links to other places is bad because of the numbers. if they are dicks about content fine, but fightbeat is great because of its free content and what used to be lively forum.

 

for that, he can just trek to Russia and await the winner of Ibragimov-Holyfield. I mean he's the reason Peter and Maskaev are fighting this late in the year as it is. It just reminds of a man standing in his ex-wife's driveway, threatening her while holding the restraining order in his hand.

 

Like I've said, I've allowed links here many times. That's one site I won't make an exception. I did my duty and allow their name to be mentioned without any issue. I made peace with the owner over there and he was fully aware I wouldn't allow their name on my site. I removed it and he never returned the favor. So my compromise is to allow the story to be pritned with a link back to the site. I won't compromise
