LOS ANGELES, Sept. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Muhammad Ali, three-time heavyweight boxing champion and one of the most recognized people in the world, is a nominee for this year's Nobel Peace Prize. Co-nominated with Ali is Peter Georgi, Ali's former senior humanitarian advisor. http://fightbeat.com/news_details.php?NW=20253
A bit skeptical about this award. This is just another case of organisations wanting to milk the glamour of another celeb. And it cheapens the Nobel prize.... Surely there are many peeps who have done to much for peace in the world who should be receiving this award ... only that they are not famous.
If they had done SO MUCH for peace in this world, they WOULD be famous. Congratulations to Ali!! :bears:
I hear what you are saying, but I think the fact that Ali is so famous is a big part in why the work he has done is effective. He is one of the very few people who still make headlines wherevere he goes and is still loved everywhere. When he talks about peace, many will listen and just maybe do something about it
At least nobel prize is given for what you have done in your life, it is not like he is getting a new job or something. the last pope was much worse in that regard
He told those typical capitalist white-American government predators to fuck off honkey trash, during the Vietnam war,..:bears: he's alright by me,..I love him for that...:bears: :bears: and I think he did the same to Bush too, signalled to him that he was a stupid, racist albino chimp, hence the 'ear whirlin' symbol,..:: classic, I like him, long live Mohammed Ali.
:crafty: Aint you happy he stood up to them Zions, whitey?,..I'd think if not for the colour of his skin, he'd be a sweet role model for your faction :dunno: .
Well his Great Grand-Daddy was Irish, and his Momma was called O'Grady. But he still ain't cutting it. I fail to see why a stumbling mumbling droooling old has-been should get nominated for shit, apart from some injections or something.
