Countries don't have sanctions imposed on them just for the flying fuck of it.
You heard wrong about the UN. How the fuck do you think Bush justified the attack ?
How would he get away with the WMD story if there were still UN inspectors allowed to search the places of interest ?

Can you show any news stories of Inspectors being kicked out of Iraq?

 

The UN inspectors where on stand by in the event Saddam wanted to let them back in.
If there were a few still stationed in Iraq in the hopes of being allowed to perform their duties , I don't know.
Bottom line , they weren't allowed to conduct their searches ,That is all that matters.
If some were stationed in an embassy or hotel waiting , thats irrelevant.
