    I concur with this.

Those saying Holy has a chance are crazy! I recall Evander struggling with a washed up Holmes, aint no way he's beating a young Ali. The 67 Ali beats ANY version of Holy. Hell, the 70 Ali would beat any version of Holy also.

No, I think one guy has lied and the others have repeated the shit without seeing the event at all.

There are people who still haven't forgiven Ali or not going to army and renewing the heavyweight boxing. Those are good enough reasons to clmain he was KOed against Cooper which h obviously wasn't

But one thing's for sure, Mike Tyson definitely can't beat any version of Holyfield, I'd even pick today's version that everyone's so hyped up about to beat Busters bitch.

This might be the dumbest statement Ive ever heard. The Holy of right now would get KILLED by the Tyson who he beat in 96, much less a prime Mike.

Maybe a prime Mike.. but most likely Ali would dominate him

    Lemmon Loser has ZERO Chance!

MAYBE a prime Big Daddy? maybe..

I don't think Ali's greatness was tied to infallibility. Looking for clues we can see that when Douglass beat Tyson he looked like Ali doing it. So Tyson couldn't beat Ali IMO. Lewis was a more refined Foreman in many respects, so Lewis might fall short. I can see Ali avoiding Lewis because of Lewis' lack of aggression.

Marciano could have possably done it because Ali hated guys like Marciano and Frazier that just came foward and took the beating. Maybe Holmes for different reasons: Holmes had such good lateral movement he could avoid Ali's jab better than most.

Ali had most of his problems with tough guys who kept coming foward though. Norton, Shavers, Frazier... cooper.

No heavyweight after Larry Holmes could come close to beating Ali. And that's more a testament to the modern heavyweight's inability than Ali's ability.

As much as people love Joe Louis, he couldn't beat Ali. It's just two very different styles from two very different eras. In terms of in the ring, Louis could very well be the greatest, though.

Marciano could beat Ali. Only because of his tenacity. When Ali used the rope-a-dope, his opponents would try to pick away and find an opening upstairs. Marciano would throw anywhere above the belt if he couldn't pop someone in the chin.

Prime for Prime, Holmes vs. Ali would be an amazing fight. I just don't see him getting flustered by Ali's movement and handspeed, but I also think that he wouldn't provide too much else. Ali UD.

Then, there's the guys that actually beat him.

Of all the heavyweights in history....the fighter that had the best chance to beat a prime Ali is Lennox Lewis imo.

Everyone else, INCLUDING TYSON is probably a clear underdog against Ali.
Not saying that there are heavyweights that could have beaten him on a given day.

but in his prime he would be the favorite over anyone.

smart, smart guy who got into alot of his opponents heads and always had tricks up his sleeves.

He would have made a prime Mike Tyson have a nervous breakdown:laughing:

On the looks of it Vitali shouldn't be able to trouble Ali at all, but considering how easily he dealt with slick boxers he faced (Donald, Johnson, Byrd before the injury etc) it seems that he isn't easily outboxed by anyone

You people overrate Ali so much. If a guy like Cooper who wouldn't make top100 these days almost knocked out ali and might as well have if ali corner didn't cheat then don't be so quick to dismiss much greater fighters than cooper...

Bert Cooper almost KO'd Holyfield and I doubt Oliver McCall or Hasim Rahman will make anyone's top 1000 greatest heavyweight list.
