What I'm surprised about is how nobody here even remembers what happened the last time a boxer assaulted another boxer at a press conference. Bernard Hopkins got fined 200K for 'promoting' a fight. If Hatton had smacked that fruitcake Floyd, he'd not only have faced a very heavy fine, possible Floyd and his camp woulda sued his ass for another big chunk of his purse.
Unfortunately, street guys like my man bigdawg care nothing about that. They're more interested in showing their manhood, despite the fact that the REAL fight is gonna take place in the ring like professionals.

I could be mistaken, but I thought that Hatton either joined Golden Monopoly, or signed a one-fight deal with them.

"Mayweather Promotions" is an associate promoter for the event. I'm sure that much like Winky Promotions and Antonio Leonard Promotions (whose one client is Jeff Lacy), it too will fall under the GPHM umbrella. But as far as this fight, it's their association with Hatton that allows them to serve as lead promoter.

 

The technicality is that the Hopkins-Wright incident occured at the weigh-in, conducted by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. You don't need a commission's blessings to hold a press conference, so it's doubtful that any fine would've taken place if push literally came to shove.

 

This is pure speculation. And I agree it is for TV. We all know that PBF tries to be something that he is not. However why talk shit about someone when they aren't around but when u have a chance to speak up u play pocket pool and refuse to speak up. Yes he did, that was supposedly Floyd's sole reason for taking the fight. Hatton took shots at Floyd at every turn, starting with his post-fight comments after knocking out Castillo.
