I'd take Jones by ud, but Patterson would always have a punchers chance.

A HW Patterson beats a SMW Roy (not P4P, I'm talking about if that's the weight they actually came into the ring at)

Yeah stopping Richard Hall & Vinny Paz proves Roy would knock Patterson out at any weight 'no problem'.

Get the fuck out of here with that shit.

Those are totally the only guys Roy ever stopped in his career.

Floyd had no chin or heart and Roy hits harder than almost anyone at 175.

Roy blitzed precisely ONE meaningful opponent at 175 - Montel Griffin. Almost every other stoppage was by long attrition or from guys quitting on their stool. 'Roy hits harder than almost anyone at 175' is a freaking ridiculous statement.

And the gulf between heavyweight and 175lb punchers is yawning on top of that, even if he were. Nobody could put a dent in Foster at 175, heavyweights ran a truck over him, Spinks was rock solid at 175, Tyson ran a truck over him, etc & the list goes on. Liston destroyed Patterson and that says NOTHING about what even exceptional 175lb puncher would do, never mind an average puncher at the weight in raw power terms like Jones.
Bonavena, Quarry, Machen, Ellis etc can't stop Patterson. It takes a peak Ali until the 12th. But a guy with barely more than one impressive stoppage at 175 will 'no problem'?

    Just go away.

And you'll be one of very few peoples to believe that garbage.

He shattered Hill's ribs with a body punch. He battered Woods.

Stopped Kelly with one punch. Even at 171, he knocked down an iron chinned Sosa who had never even been put down before.

Also, I like how were are acting Patterson, who weighed as low as 183 at HW, is some legit HW that Roy suddenly needs a massive influx of size and power to stop.

Same height, Roy has greater reach, roughly same weight.

Also, more complete garbage. Not that Ali was ever known as a puncher to begin with, but the fact that it is well documented that Ali carried Patterson in that fight as he would do in several fights. He still to this day takes heat for being unnecessarily brutal in the ring at points of his career.

You're completely incapable of comprehending posts, aren't you? Waste of fucking time. I didn't say Patterson was way bigger than Roy - I said the punching power of the guys who KOd him was way bigger than Roy.

8 KOs/TKOs in 18 Light heavyweight wins. Most of them in the second half of the fight through attrition. 'One of the hardest hitting light heavyweights ever'.

Merqui Sosa? Glen Kelly? Go away.

And? He still has no heart and a weak chin.

Sosa had a great chin as stated already. Kelly was undefeated.

The fact is, that EVERYONE knows(except stupid people and haters) is that Roy didn't stop people because he didn't like to knock people out...period.

Dude's power was insane though, stopping a guy like Hill and breaking his ribs with single body punch...nearly killing Griffin in a single round. Crazy stuff.

Are you really going to engage in debate with someone who contends Roy Jones knocks out Floyd Patterson no problem, & that Patterson was a fighter devoid of heart?

You are being taken for a ride, Brother Hut.
