If he destroys Marquez in devastating fashion, he will have officially cleaned out the division. What should he do next? Step up a division? Or take on the up and comers in his division? Should he make rubbermatches with the other contenders?
I think 135 is too high for Manny. He would be at a definite disadvantage there, and frankly....what ever happened to a fighter ruling a divisiion for years like the oldtimers? Everybody feels the need to move up. Sure it's exciting, but there is a limit. Manny at 130 is as high as he ever needs to be. His strength and power wouldn't have the same impact at lightweight....so it ain't fair. I say Manny oughtta take on all comers at 130 and see what happens. Let the upandcomers move up to face him for a change. \ He has earned it. But don't be surprised if Manny gets upset because of all the distractions and attention.
Good post.I agree that he shouldn't move up. Hopefully he stays focused and he doesn't lose the eye of the tiger. Rocky III comes to mind.
considering pac's recent level of opposition, i wouldnt be shocked if he goes onto fight a few more solis' and hasbeens of the world before calling it quits. the guy clearly doesnt have any intentions of fighting a good young fighter who's in his prime.
after he destroys Barrera he will get schooled by JMM again. Then we can hear some new bullshit excuses from him and his distractions.::
He can try to go up to 135...there is good money and there are good names there....Juan Diaz, Casamayor, Katsidis, even David Diaz... But frankly, even beyond MAB & Marquez, 130 lbs. is still pretty rich with Edwin Valero, Humberto Soto, Joan Guzman, even Barrios... If he were even to take on one of the top three (Valero/Soto/Guzman) and beat them; that'd be a big and very credible win. Peace.
because I can't remember the last time he fought somebody coming off a win. :dunno: who cares how much he got paid unless you smell a dime of that purse. maybe he should fight Morales again after Barrera it will mean as much as it meant the last time.
Ummm, yeah you mean his last fight? :notallthere: LOL, @ a fucking Marquez groupie talking shit about Manny's competition.
I forgot about his last oponnenet. So irrelevant. but now he's fighting Marco coming of a loss, back on the same path as before.:: I'm not a Marquez Groupie either. dont' be pissed cause everything I said about your boy it's true. He has fought alot of fighters coming of losses lately correct?:dunno: I remember when Floyd fought Judah coming of a loss he got alot of shit for that. The same year Pacquiao did it 3 times and got fighter of the year.:notallthere:
I haver never heard excuses following a JMM fight win lose or draw. can't say the same about Pacquiao. Hell the excuses have already started for the Barrera fight even though he should destroy this dude.::
stay at 130 and fight the young hungry contenders,he's already too small for 130 IMO,moving up would be a huge mistake.
bingo. i was gonna say, manny's done anything but clean out the division. his entire 130 lb run has been morales and solis, save for a couple of tuneups.
If Pacquiao can beat those two, he should take some time off and learn how to remain balanced in the ring and to defend himself, so as to and appease internet boxing scribes.
You asked when the last time he fought a guy not coming off a loss correct? Who cares if MAB is coming off a loss. It wasn't a bad loss. It was a very competitive fight with JMM. Funny enough that was JMM's best win of his career. The fact is whether you like it or not Manny has beaten a higher level of competition than Marquez has. Hell, he demolished a much younger and better MAB as well.
You're away for aeons and come back and make this crap post? :tease: :crafty: :: Just kiddin'....where ya been, Croc? Anyway...naw. There is plenty left to clean up at 130. Peace.
