agREED. It is a bit ass that Ricky had nothing to say until he got home, but as far as smack talk goes, Floyd looks like a fool in comparison. Some will argue that Floyd's clearly getting under Ricky's skin, but he wasn't exactly laughing himself when Ricky started shooting back today (or was that yesterday?)

That said, interesting that even the commentator (who kept apologizing for Ricky's language) suggested the pressure's getting to Ricky.

I don't think he was saying it was getting to him, I think they are saying there is a lot of pressure to perform and look like he's the boss, hence the strong words. But getting to him makes it sound like he's cracking. I think he looked confident up there

Only thing that matters is getting your hand raised Decemer 8th. That said Floyd sure isn't down 2-0. Ricky said nothing all week until he got home and Floyd acted in England more cocky then he acted in America. Floyd already knows this fight was easy and this week confirmed it. Hatton looks like a beaten man to me thats why hes stopped running off at the mouth until his drunk following gooded him into peer pressure.

 

i guess a better way of putting it is, Floyd is in fact getting under his skin. It happened with Gatti, it happened with Oscar. Not necessarily Floyd's oh-so witty smack talk :: ... just his going out of his way to be a dick.

To his credit though, Ricky's handled it better than either of the aforementioned. None of it means anything come fight time, of course. Just that Ricky deserves some credit for at least handling himself better on the press tour than Arturo and Oscar were able to.

Hey just keeping Hattons fanbase in check. They acting like Hatton dominated this week or some shit. There boy was cowardly all week. Now all of a sudden he talks some shit in front of his fan boys.

But like i said nothing that happened this week means anything. Winning on December 8 is all that matters. Hatton looks like a beaten man already IMO.

 

I don't know, I gotta completely disagree. I thought Hatton was saving the best for last. But it does confirm what bigdawg had to say earlier in the week, and responses so far also confirm REED's suspicions of how Ricky's fans would react.

 

it's natural to get more aggressive when you know your people are behind you. people call hatton a bitch...don't agree with that at all. yes, hatton should have said what he was saying behind floyd's back to his face but phonetap suspects the longer this tour goes the more hatton will speak up.

stop calling hatton a coward...it's not the guys personality to get up in peoples face and floyd knows that. for example, floyd knew better than to pull that shit with zab judah, because judah would have slapped the shit out of him then and there. floyd is a smart guy (despite the arrogance) he knows who he can fuck with and how.

Ricky's looked totally derisive of Floyd all week, so saying that he suddenly got 'brave' on home soil is BS. He said more today because he had an audience who would respond to it, thats natural, but theres been no change in his demeener all week. As for how important that is - I think it IS somewhat meaningful that a guy whos never been in a superfight before should be so contemptuous of the p4p No1 fighter in the world. If he had been stuttering and nervous in the face of Floyd's intimidation tactics it would have augured extremely badly for him. We've seen alot of guys begin to crack up in his situation, go on to lose, only to look back collectivly and see the obvious signs of their failure in the press conferences. As it is I think seeds of doubt have been planted in FLOYD's mind which might never have been there before. When you stare someone down and they basically sneer in your face and treat you like an impetuous child for 4 days straight its gonna unsettle you. Advantage Hatton.

 

He talked all that shit before the fight was signed about Floyd when Floyd was no where to be seen. Then Floyd was at his grill and he just stood there and said nothing. If it isn't his style then Floyd has obviously got under his skin.

bottom line, none of these guys are cowardly, they just have different temperments...
