It seems from the threads that the majority of people are rooting for Hatton...so i just wanted to get some stats on this issue.

It's BEYOND me why anyone would want "hook n hold" Hatton to beat Flamboyant Floyd.

A Floyd win is better for boxing as it sets up a potential megafight with Shane or Cotto. If Hatton were to win, he wouldn't fight either of those guys...and if he did it wouldn't be as interesting.

So what is is? Who do you want to win?

Hatton, and I disagree with almost your entire post (save for Hatton's hook-and-hold style)

He has said something about wanting to see Mayweather win and see Ricky's parents sobbing at ringside at the sight of their unconscious son.

there's a difference between being flamboyant, and just being an asshole. Floyd falls into the latter category. People mistake Floyd's behavior as being flamboyant or charismatic, but he's not. He's just an asshole (or worse, TRYING to be an asshole).

I disagree, for a few reasons:

    - I firmly believe that if Mayweather-Mosley were meant to be, it would've already happened. MAYBE it happens next year... but it would require both winning later this year (at least to maximize interest). I'd more believe that GBP would pursue a Hatton-Shane fight than Floyd-Shane. I can also see money killing this fight, as Shane wouldn't settle for very much less than half, whereas Floyd will always believe he deserves the lion's share.

    - It took for Oscar and Arum to kiss and make up in order to put together some of the fights we're getting later in the year. Floyd and Arum still despise each other (despite the front they put on, merely "dismissing" the claims and the other when the subject is raised), and it will affect a Floyd-Cotto fight from happening. I don't believe Arum will ever participate in a fight where Floyd financially benefits more so than he does WITHOUT strings attached (promotional contract, options on future fights, etc.), and Floyd won't ever again participate in a fight where Arum serves as lead promoter, unless it's allowing him to go from multi-millionaire to billionaire.

    - I disagree that a Floyd fight vs. either would be more interesting than Hatton vs. either. I'm not a fan of Ricky's hook-and-hold style, but he does generally come in with the intention of knocking you out. Floyd's been a pot-shotter for years, and that damn sure won't change against either Cotto or Shane, especially against Shane. I'm not even sure he ditches the style for the Hatton fight.

There will be enough in the pot to entice Hatton to take on anyone HBO damn well wishes. So fear of avoiding Cotto or Shane is a non-issue, IMO. It was understandable (business-wise) why Hatton was unwilling for a while to fight Floyd. I didn't like it, but it turns out from a business standpoint that he was smart to wait it out. This fight is happening because Hatton's pleased with his purse, and not upset that Floyd's still taking home the lion's share. That won't happen with Floyd-Shane or - as long as Arum and Floyd aren't speaking - Floyd-Cotto.

    Good post but dull.

Can't you just say you're cheering for Hatton because he's white? I'm bored as hell at work and at least that would cause an uproar and some entertainment value. :bears:

Fine, I'm rooting for Ricky because he's a cracka. Sly's rooting for Floyd because he fancies dark fellas.

    Gotta go with Floyd.

For those that say that PBF is an asshole are some of the same cats that say that he will sign every single autograph for fans and goes out of his way for the people that pay to see him fight. I guess he's an autograph signing asshole. I'll Holla 5000

Your muscles are tiny and you should be banned for starting such a predjuced thread.
