nobody really looks at BoxRec as a news site, though. I'm guessing that's what Cupey meant with his title, as most generally regard FightNews as statistically the most popular boxing website (until recently, anyway). BoxRec is the most popular boxing-related website, but strictly due to research. The only news they produce is generated through Google filters, which in turn links news from other sites.
there you have it. why speak for Cupey when he can speak for himself :: Didn't they used to have their own news section, though? Boxing-Central.com, or some shit?
I remember it because it wasn't that good but I considered joining solely because thery were on boxrec. Then they changed ownership a few times.
sherdog 1,538,900 fightnews 535,600 boxingscene 533,800 eastsideboxing 506,400 boxingtalk 204,100 fightbeat 173,400
I just remember it because their East Coast writer (Rich DiBona) and I were the only two out of 30 in press row who picked Ouma to beat JC Candelo, and spending much of the Freitas-Grigorjan walkout bout laughin and telling everyone "I told you so."
For the most part, sherdog is the only one that matters and was embraced by the UFC when they went back to nothing for a bunch of years. If the sport of boxing were to embrace one site....we'd see some different numbers.
so much for cupey's parade on btalk going down the shitter. :: btalk (even when it's down) > fightbeat (at its best) ::
Fightbeat's forum is the best thing it has going for it, as long as quality posters remain, it will stay relevant...it's the forum contributors which make the radio show fun and stand out
I think what's nice is to put voices to the names. You start to laugh hahahahaha. I personally hate being on the radio show because I sound like a retard. Oh boy, here we go hahahaha
Well this just proves my point. I think anywhere around 300K and above makes you top tier. anything below that down to 100K is probably second tier. 50-100K is third tier. 25K and above is 4th tier. Anything below 25K you should basically shoot yourself. ::
Come on Cupey, you can do it. Your site can become the #1 site. Just believe in it and keep on working with the same drive and passion.
Thanks bro. I really feel energized with all of the positive comments. In the next few days I might have a deal finalized to license a new feature for the site. It's top secret. :: by year end I'm working on buying out/ taking over two websites. So I'm hoping all of this pays off in the end. Cupey
You can take over their members and close the sites perhaps, You can do this by encouraging them to migrate to fightbeat. If the sites are almost empty you can close them down.
Very surprising to be that skewed. Candelo was coming off that very impressive win over julio garcia (i'm not kidding), but ouma had the better record and the verno phillips win that was equal to (or better) anything candelo had done. I was thinking about blaming teddy, max, and espn2, but as i remember, they hyped ouma a ton, too. Hell, I'd guess more than 2 out of 30 will pick barrera over pacq.
