Taylor TKO inside 11 rounds.

The style matchup in this fight could not favor Taylor any more then it does, Pavlik is a fighter who walks straight in and tries to beat you down in a very tall rigid stance.

What favors Taylor is the fact that his punches are straighter and faster and he has a guy in front of him that he will be able to hit all night. Taylor will get there first and almost at will and will get the stoppage.

I havent read any other break downs, I will go back and read his. Regardless these are just opinions and everyone is wrong at some point. I doubt tonight will be one of those times for me though. :tease:

 

Honestly, I don't see that one bit. He walks down fighters who let him walk them down. Pavlik uses angles well; his defense is limited though.

Taylor is very inconsistent. Even if the first round went exactly as you called it, with him beating Pavlik to the punch etc, there is NO guarantee that he will continue with a winning strategy for any given length of time. He has shown that in every one of his championship fights.

Pavlik may not have the obvious athletic talent that Taylor demonstrates at random intervals, but he has shown a willingness to take a solid shot against a person known for power (Taylor has not). Pavlik has shown that he is willing to fight consecutive rounds where most of the time is on the inside (Taylor has not).

If Taylor is able to negate those last two points, he wins the fight. If he actually answers those last two points by demonstrating his abilities in those scenarios, then he wins overwhelmingly.

If he doesn't have an answer (and based on my pick, I don't thik it'll be a complete one) then Pavlik wins. That's why I'm picking Pavlik by MD...because one judge may screw it up by calling a close-but-clear decision a draw...it's Taylor fight, after all ::

Slystaff is the one I was really pointing out, he's the know-it-all. Slystaff thinks he's intellectually superior to everyone (I have NO idea why, especially since he believes in a mythological god)), and is always dissing other posters whether it's directly or not.

So when Taylor loses, I will quote Slystaff's bold prediction and not yours.

I'll go with Mike on the Draw but I HOPE Jermain gets starched

 

The only concern I have is Pavlik getting caught early with a lefthook he doesn't see. Pavlik's a little fat with his lefthook and more importantly, he closes his eyes whenhe throws the shot.

If he and Taylor throw at the same time, it could be lights out for him.

Outside of that, as long as Pavlik is willing to trade shots with Taylor, the more that happens, the more pensive Taylor becomes as the fight goes on. That's why I think Pavlik will win going away.

Beyond an early round fluke, I think Pavlik takes care of business down the stretch.

 

Interesting that you should say this because I said so much on another thread that Pavlik is susceptible to that punch, taylor will land it and at some point of the fight it would be that punch which starts the end for Pavlik.
