that's certainly a possibility. mayweather technically won his 5th division title and if he beats hatton, he beats an unbeaten guy who's a pound for pound calibre. but at the same time, floyd beat a past prime, part-timer in oscar and hatton's not very good at 147. pavlik beat a #1 contender in miranda and dethroned the middleweight champion, both in an emphatic fashion.
I think he's the favorite so far. If Hatton beats Mayweather, he's probably a lock. Kessler will be a legitimate candidate if he beats Calzaghe.

word. Actually, Whoever wins that fight is a guaranteed lock. Floyd would have beaten both Hatton and De La Hoya, in the two richest fights of the year or Hatton would have beaten Castillo (with a one punch bodyshot) and more importantly..become the first man to defeat the consensus P4P king! Very difficult to imagine an argument for anyone else outside of these two.
The only way floyd is going to win is by running If hatton has enough speed to land then it's all over for floyd.
