    1st of All, WOW!!!!:bears:

This Fight Lived Up to ALL the Expectations...REED is PROUD to Say that he "PUSHED" This Fight on the NON-BOXING Related Messageboards that he Frequents AND it Didn't Disappoint...

WE (Meaning Those who Genuinely CARE about the Well Being of Boxing) Got it RIGHT Tonight, Fellasl!!!...

    On to What we've LEARNED...

    1. REED KNEW that Taylor Would INDEED Fight Back HARD...As LIMITED as he Is, the Dude ISN'T a Pushover:nono: ...He's Got a TON of HEART...Jermain Actually EARNED Respect N LOSING, N REED's Opinion...

Being HONEST, REED was SAD Witnessing Taylor's 1st Dose of Prizefighting HUMILITY...REED Picked THE EXACTfuckingROUND, yet Felt BAD for Taylor, Initially...But Rest ASSURED, The SELF-Dick Sucking will Follow:lol: ..

Dude was Left SLUMPED Over, Marvis Frazier Style...& his Wife, Mother & Sisters All WITNESSED it N Person...That's NOT Cool @ All, No Matter HOW MUCH Money Taylor's Taking Home Tonight...

    2. Taylor has a BETTER Chin than REED Suspected, even though he Got KO'ed...

Pavlik Landed the Loooooooong, Straight Rights & Right Crosses (His BEST Shots) @ WILL, yet Taylor Took them VERY Well...If U Told REED N ADVANCE that Pavlik would LAND his BEST Shot Virtually EVERYTIME he Threw it, REED Would've Expected Taylor to B KO'ed In LESS than 3 Rounds....

Nonetheless, UNTIL the KO, REED Thought Taylor Looked "Hurt" No More than 2-3 Times N the Whole Fight...

    3. Pavlik is Now a STAR...

Some Might Grow to DISLIKE Pavlik Eventually, Due to the Amount of MAINSTREAM Attention he's about to Get...REED is PROUD to Say that he was ON the Bandwagon Waaaaaaaaaaay PRIOR to when Pavlik "Blows Up"...

Pavlik's the NEW "Owner" of Atlantic City, from a Prizefighting Perspective...

He's VULNERABLE, yet Undeniably TOUGH...NEVER Rattled...& he's a TRUE Puncher(Remind U of Anybody???)...MANY Elite Fighters have HIT Taylor SQUARELY...NONE have Made him REACT like Pavlik did...

    4. Taylor is ALREADY Clinging to the Belief that he "Had" Pavlik in Round 2...YES, Taylor DID "Have" Pavlik All but READY to B STOPPED...

"However", Taylor ONLY Got to that Position Due to Pavlik's ARROGANCE...Taylor GENUINELY HURT Pavlik 1st, then Pavlik Got MACHO @ Tried to VISIBLY Show that he WASN'T Hurt...

THAT's when Jermain BASHED Pavlik Baaaaaaaaaad Enough to DROP him...

Pavlik WON'T Make that Same FOOLISH Mistake N a RE....

    5. Until Fuuuuuuuuuuurther Notice, THIS IS the "Fight of the Year"...

Marquez-Vasquez II was MUCH More 1-Sided...

Anybody Else LEARN Something Tonight, that REED HASN'T Mentioned???

Didn't Jermain's sister jump for joy when Kelly knocked him out? I'm sure that was Jermain's sister cheering for Kelly. Who was that large black female in white in the front row?

Jermain fights like Zab Judah. Not letting your hands go with the speed and accuracy you have is crazy.

Royness your point about the hands going is a good one. I think Taylor was prevented from continuing his assault on Pavlik but in general he does have a problem letting his hands go imo. The more I think about it the more Taylor reminds me of Jeff Lacy... And When Lacy fought Calzighe he could not pull the trigger to save his life.

Taylor landed some great shots here and there but apart from the second round Pavlik pretty much dominated it

Apart from the second round I don't think Taylor won any, although case could be made for two more rounds (in which case he would have been in front). What I meant was that even though Taylor might have captured some points, the control was always in Pavlik's hands, save for the second round, and he appeared to be winning the war

Aside from Round 2, REED ALWAYS Had the Sense that the OUTCOME of the Fight was "IN" Pavlik's GRASP....

I had Pavlik winning all but the 2nd. :dunno:

Although Taylor was landing shots, I thought Pavlik increasingly did a better job of rolling with shots, not getting hit as flush as he previously had. Plus, I thought Pavlik had figured out the correct distance and his reach became an issue because Jermain's shots were falling a tad shorter AND he made Jermain reach when Jermain wasn't retreating.

Around the 4th or 5th round, BitchAss Jake called and showed concern that Pavlik was fighting the wrong fight after having such an easy time in the first round. I wasn't concerned because I felt that Pavlik had taken over control of the fight and as long as he could handle Jermain's shots, he'd knock Jermain out eventually.

Jermain's like Oscar in the sense that he's not a relaxed fighter. The combos he threw to get himself out of the corner were thrown in desperation more than from any kind of gameplan. I just had the feeling that Pavlik was continually walking him down and enforcing his size and strength on Taylor.

Jermian makes alot of strange movements. This is probably the reason he has bad stamina because he wates energy doing nothing.

Agreed. I had the same feeling. After Pavlik survived the best of Taylor in round 2, and began walking him down in round 3 and backing him into corners, I knew at that point that Taylor was fucked and that it was only a matter of time.

LMAO @ Sly saying that Pavlik's jab would be a non-factor. Kelly out-jabbed Taylor, which didnt surprise me at all. Taylor's jab might be quicker, but Kelly out-jabbed him cause his jab was longer, and most importantly, better TIMED.

Pavlik proved last night that even though he's not as quick as Taylor, he's ALOT better technically, and even showed a better defense. Taylor's D is SHIT! He couldnt avoid Kelly's right cross to save his life!

    Add to the list...

Emanuel Steward used Taylor to help develop fighters he's got a monetary interest in...

    Andy Lee & Kermit Cintron.

Even though the knockout made it irrelevant, one other thing we learned (or at least had our suspicions confirmed) was that so long as he lasts the distance, Jermain Taylor will NEVER EVER lose a decision. How the hell he was up by 3, 3 and 5 points on the cards is beyond me. That means Pavlik only won 2 rds on one card, and just one on the other. Again, glad the knockout made it irrelevant, but food for thought for the next cat who faces Taylor (though I seriously doubt he's ever again put in there with a puncher, save for a Pavlik rematch if he pursues it)

Taylor talked the Pavlik rematch, but for some reason I doubt he'll actually pursue it.

How would a fight between Taylor and Lacy play out?

Wladimir, Povetkin, Maskaev, Enzo Macc, Clinton Woods, Joe Cal, Pavlik, Hatton, Rees, ....the list groweth.

Damn....where the fuck is Ring Magazine now.

PS congrats to Pavlik. I figured he was just another cracker the boxing press had built up so they could pull down. Well, there you have it. Amen.

The reason he may have no energy is because he wastes energy. Wasting energy and having innately bad stamina need not be related.

All I know is that he wasn't making any movements after Pavlik iced him. Apart from occassional twitch or something.

That Arthur Abraham is the best middleweight in the world. :crafty: :crafty:

Bring on Pavlik, Abraham will make his head do a 360 like Gevor´s and then he won´t be getting up. :slap:

Suffice it to say, Abraham is the 2nd best, at worst. And he was always a DAMNED sight better than Taylor. Period.

    What we learned?

    1) After nearly 40 years of interest in boxing, I still can't predict a fight to save my life.

    2) Kelly Pavlik is a determined guy with heavy hands. His power seriously belies his geeky, pale and atrophied look.

    3) Pavlik was the much bigger guy in the ring. He looked like a freaking LH fighting a MW.. (Karl was right about that)

    4) Taylor was the far more nervous fighter when the opening bell as evidenced by his go-for-broke, energy-wasting, herky-jerky opening round.

    5) Pavlik would not have been knocked down by Taylor had he not stuck his chin out mockingly. That was the only reason Taylor hurt him in the 2nd.

    AND FINALLY:

    6) I fully deserve the signature (Courtesy of Jake) that I will be wearing for the next month as well as the brand-new, sure to embarrass, avatar that my boy Kaliber will stick on me.

    :flip: Jermain

I would love to see a Lacy Taylor fight. That would be a war.

I seriously think Taylor WILL take a rematch. I think he has underated heart.

I´m just messing around, it was a very good fight and Taylor was a different ref away from walking with his head up straight into the Hall of Fame. Many refs would have stopped the bout in the second round and it was amazing how Pavlik came back and finished the job. I was sort of impressed with Taylor in this fight, more than in previous bouts. I hope Pavlik sticks around 160 and we can see him fight Abraham. Maybe Taylor can come back and challenge Felix Sturm, cause I honestly don´t believe these weight struggle excuses from Taylor, seems to me he´s making weight just fine and keeps bitchin and moanin like Joe Calzaghe, who if you listen to him hasn´t made 168 in twelve years.

This was a great night for boxing all around. Berto/Estrada was good, Perez/Agbeko was good, Woods vs. the Drunken Monkey was pretty damn good....Dawson looked sharp and Valuev did an Ali Shuffle. Can´t complain.

I picked Taylor to win, but in all honesty, Pavlik only got dropped by Taylor because he stuck his chin out mockingly like an idiot and Taylor unloaded a combination on his ass. Otherwise Kelly destroys Jermain without the 2nd round drama that made it seem Taylor was actually in the figh.

 Yes, if one focuses on that perspective alone I can see your point shinn, barely an article about Pavlik passes by without mention of his colour,..... however,..:nono: why the fuck would a blessed Lepracaun with a 5 leaved clover clipped to his gentleman's top-hat, start lighting spontaneous fires and begin snickering hysterically to himself?,..what's your psychological make-up whitey?,..don't you know the Abbo's did that to Australia's eco-system thousands of years ago and turned a lucious flourish into miserable bone-dry grit?,... don't let it be that time of the month again,...:nono: stay the fuck here.
