Zab is a way better finisher than Taylor. See Spinks 1 and 2 (in 1 he had him all but finished.. another round and it would have gottent he job done), or see any of Zab vs bum fights.

    So was REED...

Normally the "Butterflies" Wear Off DURING the 1st Round...N THIS Case, it Took 2-3 Rounds for REED to Get SETTLED into the Fight...

    The ENDING Still Saddens REED...

    Taylor LITERALLY Got BEAT DOWN...

Taylor came out sooo fast and violently....the tension in that first round was crazy. Neither fighter wanted to make a mistake and KOTFO....yet they both wanted to ko each other so badly....

Smoger was right to step in and not bother with a count. Taylor was OUT!

Pavlik is the most brutal puncher at 160 since G-man.

Steward warn Taylor about going into the corners and just covering up...that Smoger might stop it.....Smoger was ready to jump in from the first right hand...he would lean in then pull back...Pavlik landed that uppercut...then the left hook and Taylor hand just felt to his side...and that was that...good stopage...

    It's TRUE....

Pavlik was DOWN by like 3 Pts on 2 Cards & 4 Points on the Other...

REED Didn't SCORE the Fight, but MENTALLY, he had Pavlik WINNING Slightly or DEAD EVEN @ Worst...

Good Thing Pavlik's a FINISHER or Else we'd All B Sitting Here BITCHING about Yet ANOTHER Bullshit Decision Involving Taylor...

I think Muzse pointed it out earlier but I'll follow up on it, that left uppercut Pavlik landed after the right was BRUTAL, and the hook after that DID in fact slightly lift Taylor off the canvas.

I dont think there can be any doubt now that Pavlik is P4P the biggest puncher in the sport.

    GREAT Comparison!!!...

Like Pavlik, Lopez was a TALL, LANKY "Banger" w/LEAKY Defense....Pavlik's BETTER in REED's Opinion, but the Analogy FITS...

How about Cotto? I think Cotto is as formidable. Hatton could also be in the running. I just don't think Taylor was that good.

Cotto and Hatton are both accumulation punchers. Pavlik can ice guys cold with one, or two well placed right crosses. So no, neither Cotto nor Hatton is in Kelly's league as far as power goes.

The only guy who really compares in terms of power is Cintron. But Kermit the frog overall doesnt have the quality Pavlik does.

Yeah he's def the best in the sport. A lesser ref might have stopped the fight in the 2nd, and robbed Kelly of his victory.

    Certainly fits moreso than a Pavlik-Monzon comparison.:notallthere:

Yeah there's no doubt about it, like I said, Monzon is one of my favourites. He is a better fighter than Pavlik, but at the same time don't sell Pavlik short.

His size, POWER, balls, toughness, heart, stamina etc - no middleweight in history would have an easy night with pavlik, none of them.

By the way Dsimon - cotto is formidable, the best welterweight in the world. But he is not close to being as lethal a puncher as Pavlik, or Pacquiao etc.
