Every time a fighter wins a big fight, about 70% of the forum try to act like a big genius and say that he's a great fighter. Come on, everyone. It's obvious that he's good, but 10 topics about it? This happens every time.

    Thank you

Shit happens all the time on this forum. All the Pavlik riders are going overboard with their love affair, and the ones who had doubts have converted blindly. The guy is a very good fighter with a damn good win yesterday, but he's not exactly a legend or something even close to it.

its just pure shit on both sides. Either Pavlik was winning and got the KO over the overrated Taylor, or Taylor was winning, almost KO'd him, and got caught with his bad chin.

There's just pure filth when it comes to opinions on fights.

Both fights were exciting, Taylor/Pavlik was one of the best fights of the year, and it was closely contested, and Pavlik emerged.

    End of discussion

    WHO's Calling Pavlik a "Legend"???:dunno: ...

It's COMICAL that RubyHOE (Perhaps THE Most Overtly NEGATIVE Poster N Fightbeat History) would Start a Thread of this Nature...

RubyHOE's SCHTICK is to ALWAYS Act as UNimpressed as Humanly Possible, while CLINGING to Old School Fighters he's NEVER even Seen in Action:rolleyes: ...

Kelly Pavlik Won an ENTERTAINING, MEANINGFUL Fight...Because of his STYLE, the Vast MAJORITY of his Bouts will B Exciting...

& Just So U Know, REED Started the OFFICIAL "Kelly Pavlik Bandwagon" PRIOR to Pavlik-Miranda...REED's Been a FAN of Pavlik Ever Since he KO'ed Dorian Beaupierre on ShoBox, YEARS AGO...Waaaaaaaaaaaaaay BEFORE he "Blew Up"...

The Guy is GOOD for Boxing & it's Kinda SHITTY that So-Called "Boxing Fans" Don't APPRECIATE what we have in Front of Us...Pavlik's a SKILLFUL, HARDER Hitting Version of Arturo Gatti...The "Mainstream" will HAVE to Pay Attention to Boxing WHENEVER Pavlik Fights...

There's NO "Downside" to Kelly Pavlik...

You're right, but do we really need 30 threads started about Pavlik? Seriously, it was a good win, hell a very good win, but the hype he's getting at the moment is ridicilous.

BTW, I never said anyone called Pavlik a legend, just he's geting treated like one.

In fairness, there has been no meaningful boxing for ages, and the only other real fight was dawson against bum..what else should be talked about? :dunno:

It's been a long time since we had an exciting fight on HBO, we deserve to open as many threads as possible. Plus last night emerged a new star on the horizon who's giving life to a rather dull division, so shut up and to to TAAA you pussies :flip:

None's calling him a great fighter, YET anyway. But he is a beast based on the way he destroyed Taylor last night. He's young, JUST now hitting his prime, exciting, gets hit, has some skill, but most importantly.... punches like a sonuvabitch which is the most rare commodity to find in a fighter. So yes, he gets high praise. None is going overboard here. I dont see threads claiming that he's one of the all time greats at 160, or that he would beat Calzaghe and Kessler, ppl are just happy that he ridded us of that stuttering, sloppy, stinker of a champ thats all.

He's a damn good fighter, and I've never said otherwise, but what's the point of everyone starting topic after topic to discuss something everyone on the forum agrees with?

Name three fighters I've hyped in the past six months that I've never seen. Heck, name one. I've only seen Greb sparring, but who besides him? Anyway, I hardly ever mention the old-timers on the board, but shitheads keep walking around and saying that some modern fighter they like could beat some old-time fighter that they've never seen. Sometimes, I have to correct them.

If you're going to tell me that Pavlik would've beaten Carlos Monzon or Marvin Hagler, I'm going to call shit on you. Pavlik's a damn good fighter, but as you said, he's not a legend.

Now it's time for Pavlik to improve...maybe work on his left hook..and to better up his uppercut.....the jab/straight right/cross is right...he needs to mix it up better...last night he was a bit predictable...jab/right...jab/right cross...

I dunno bout Calz cause Joe might get long in the tooth, but I really think that Kessler has too many dimensions for Kelly. Provided that Kessler has a dependable chin, which we'll find out about on Nov 3.

Having said that, if Kessler beats Calzaghe, then Kessler-Pavlik at 168 will become THE best fight to be made in the sport.

I never said anyone was claiming he was an all-time great or a legend did I ? I just said Pavlik is being treated like one with all these ridicilous amount of threads. Many of you are jumping on the Pavlik's dick, and most of ya'll will be the same guys calling him a fuckin bum if he loses his next fight or any fight after that. Do we really need 50 fuckin threads on this guy? I mean after all, he only beat a stuttering, sloppy, stinker of a champ right?

See, this is the sort of bullshit I'm talking about. No super middleweight bout between two fighters with ZERO crossover exposure will be the biggest bout of the year.

Can you read simp? Did I say the BIGGEST fight? No, I said the BEST fight that can be made. Not for the mainstream public, but for us hardcore fans it'd be the best fight that could be made in the sport.

When you're talking with people about a recent event there's nothing wrong with expanding on it. Believe it or not that's usually how things get put in perspective. For example, this thread is a reaction that swings waaaaay too far in one direction compared to other topics that vary and may swing the pendulum too far the other way.

Somehow I don't think the way to combat the fact that too many threads get started after a fight (which I agree with 100%) is to start another thread talking about that situation...

Well frankly I ma beside myself. There is greatness in this forum:

Prodigial son Esk has returned... the most famous, most bad ass poster in fight beat history and you have Pavlik, a guy who would have beat Grebb Monzone and Hagler on the same night, with a hand tied behind his back and one good eye. What more can one want in a life? Please lord jesus take me now so I can go out on top of my game........

That right there is going overboard. He was on the razors edge of getting stopped in the second round and the fight was competitive throughout.

Hopkins vs Trinidad was a destruction...Tito getting beaten up the whole way and then getting put away. Same as Wlad vs. Byrd, Lewis vs. Tyson, Pacquiao vs. Morales III, Mayweather vs. Gatti...those are destructions.

Unless we don't have the same definition of destroyed...I don't take a guy getting knocked out in a close fight where he had his opponent on his way out earlier in the night being a destruction. Great win hell yeah. Is Kelly great for boxing and is this win great for boxing? Hell yeah. But some of you are making it sound like JT wasn't competitive, either because he sucks or because Pavlik is a god...neither are true. You get two great fighters in the ring that throw alot of leather and someone isn't going to stand at the end...I wish all great fights ended that way.

    The ending was a destruction.
