    for fighting Roy.

Tito should have just held off a little longer.
He could have made a comeback Vs Pavlik.

Now that is a very interesting fight.

Pavlik is just too damn big. A prime Tito would have a chance @ 160 but not this version of Tito.

Given Pavliks lack of speed and a few other factors, Tito is very alive in this fight - even a past prime Tito at 160.

You have some very good points. Pavlik is far from a defensive wizard and is there to be hit. Tito will have the punchers chance.

Lets not go crazy here over Pavlik.
Basically what I seen the other night was a limited fighter with decent power.
Taylor simply has seemed to peak Vs Hopkins but hasn't looked the same since then.

I don't dislike Pavlik and I was even rooting for him but , in my mind I know he is really only a B-class fighter.

a b-class fighter might prove to be too much for tito at 160.

also, a b-class fighter doesnt brutally KO guys like taylor and miranda. hell even his KO win over zuniga is impressive if you think about it.

    Yup, that's he bottom line.

Pavlik is an A class fighter. He may look sloppy at times, but he is deceptively skilled and clever in the ring. He is a master at reserving his power, luring his opponent into a false sense of security, then taking them out. He is also patient, has a great jab, timing and accuracy. And of course, a fucking huge punch.

CYC simply doesn't know anything about boxing, he has a very limited view of the sport. He thinks he can KO Pacquiao for example, and that if Pacquiao was as big as him (5'9) he MIGHT be able to beat him

You are retarded , plain and simple.
Also don't quote me unless you go back and quote what I say word for word , not from your very limited simplistic memory.

You think you can KO pacquaio and I am retarded? Hahahahahahahahah

NO seriously CYC, you are both retarded and deluded. And I mean that, I am not just nausing you. You're clearly not all there mentally.

I have nothing against you, I don't hate you or anything as a poster, I am just letting it be known, that's all.

 The only thing you are allowing to be known here is that you clearly don't know boxing and you like to twist words and stories around to fit your imature agenda.
Other then that you have accomplished nothing.

I just find it funny how you breeze right by ALL THESE NUMEROUS posts that talk about how slow , sloppy , and other things Pavlik is and you decide to pick a fight with me because I called him a B-class fighter.

Why don't you go argue with everyone else around here who "doesn't" think Pavlik is an elite fighter as well.

I like the guy but ,IMO I would say its mostly clear he is a B-class fighter. Now this does not mean he can't be a force depending on his comp , however there are many people here on this very board that can see many of his short comings. That alone is a great indicator he is not elite and is B-class.

Why don't you go discuss this issue with the many people here who commented on some of the things and skills Pavlik clearly doesn't have.
Maybe you will learn something and grasp some understanding of the sport.

Tito can't get the fork out his mouth enough to make 160.

He is going to look awful @ 170. He better hope that Roy is half-dead from making 170.

Jermain Taylor was undefeated, the unified middleweight champion, and held 2 wins over the all time great Bernard Hopkins.

Pavlik took him out in 7 rounds, it was a decisive and brutal ending to Taylor's reign.

THink about it, I am sure even you know that is not the work of a B fighter. Don't forget the Miranda destruction too.

Gatti is a B/C fighter and is not 1/10th as good as Pavlik, nor has he come close to getting a win as good as the Taylor one.

So you prove your ignorance just because he beat Taylor.
Not to mention he almost lost and almost was KTFO.
Don't you have eyes bro ?

Whatever man. I like the guy and I'm not gonna sit here and bash him in an attempt to get you to see the obvious.
If you can not see his short comings , then that is your problem.

With that said , I hope he does well and if you want to discuss the issue if he is elite or not , well there are plenty of people on the board that have noticed his short comings so I guess you can go talk to them.

Pavlik would be taken out in cuffs if he fights the current version of Tito.

JUST because he beat Taylor? WTF? Close decision or not, Taylor was undefeated and beat Hopkins twice. Not only that but he knocked him the fuck out.

Couple that with KO wins over Miranda, Zertuche and Zuniga, and there is just no fucking way you can call him a B fighter.

Like I said, to the untrained eye who likes De La Hoya's form and flashy shoeshine combos, Pavlik can look sloppy, but he is by no means unskilled. He is just a no nonsense, meat and potatoes fighter.

Did you not see the skill in Pavlik's use of the jab? Which eventually setup Taylor's destruction, did you not see his ring intelligence in regrouping after the knockdown, remaining very calm and relaxed, conserving his energy, then eventually loading up and taking taylor out? As well as the heart and guts in coming back from that 2nd round?

If you can't see the skill and talent in Pavlik's performance the other night, that's your shortcoming, not mine, that's your lack of insight and understanding of boxing.

You probably think Monzon, Danny Lopez, Tito and Arguello are B class fighters too.

First off , I did not call Pavlik a bum. I called him a B-class fighter.
Yes , a B-class fighter can have a great jab in case you didn't know.
A B-class fighter can also have victories over some decent competition.
Perhaps you rate your "classes" differently then I do.

Look at Tarver. He beat Jones - twice.
That was the way that paricular matchup worked out. However Tarver is a B-class fighter. We all seen what happend when Elite A-class fighter in Hopkins moved up two weight divisions. I'm not even sure if Tarver hit him.

Like I said man , I'm not gonna sit here and bash Pavlik for the soul reason to point out things you apparently just don't or didn't notice.
I like the guy but , if I sit here and keep pointing out his faults or lack of natural abilities , it will sound like I'm bashing him or something and I don't want to do that because its obvious the guy has heart and worked hard for his victory.

And CYC's whole "Pavlik has shortcomings" is also fucking retarded.

What fighter not named Duran or Robinson DOESN'T have shortcomings?

Pavlik is somewhat slow, his overall speed is probably below average for a middleweight, and he can be a little stupid and a little sloppy, but the rest of his assets more than make up for that. He is a fucking huge middleweight with a good jab, big punch, good stamina, good workrate, balls, heart, a decent chin and decent ring smarts.

If Pavlik was a B fighter he would have lost by now.

Tarver is not a B class fighter. He has good wins other than just Roy. He simply isn't as good as Hopkins, but then again, not many people are.

Vargas is a B class fighter, as much as I like Nando.

Pavlik looks less polished to the naked eye, but he is ultimately a significantly better fighter than the likes of Vargas.

Why would he have lost by now ?
The closest he came to fighting above his level was Taylor.
And Taylor is only propped up because of the Hopkins fights and he hasn't looked that good since. He has continued to downsloap since then.

Pavlik has never fought a true elite fighter so being a B-class fighter , there isn't a real reason he should have lost by now.

Your upper paragraph describes a B-class fighter to the "T" ...
You list his short comings , then you list his assets.
You just described in your own words what a B-class fighter is.
Are you retarded or something ? :dunno:

IMO Tarver is/was a B-class fighter. His episode with a shot Roy is the only possible thing on his written resume that can make someone think he is above B level.

IMO Vargas is a Borerline. Lets not forget he does have a win over a prime Winky and a almost prime Quartey. I can see an argument either way.

IMO Pavlik falls into the Tarver catagory. He just isn't a jerk-off like Tarver.
